Josephine Falls is about an hours drive south of Cairns, off the Bruce Highway in the Atherton Tablelands. A small walk from the car park takes you to three viewing points of the waterfall. You can swim there but the day we visited there were signs warning not to swim due to flash flooding from the ongoing heavy rains at that time. The view is amazing and I would imagine the swim would be refreshing. Well worth the trip.

Josephine Falls is about an hours drive south of Cairns, off the Bruce Highway. You have about a 10min walk from the carpark through the rainforest to the first of 3 viewing points, you can only swim at one of them. The falls are about 25m tall, and very nice especially after rain. The swim spot has a natural rock waterslide, the water is very cold but refreshing. Definitely worth the drive

There are quite a few places to stop on the drive from Cairns to Airlie Beach. We stopped at a few, none were better than this free activity. A short hike takes you to the falls were you can swim (depending on water level). We stayed here for hours, swimming around in the currents and enjoying the 3 meter rock slide. Excellent stop to stretch out the legs and get out some energy. Water is cool as well, nice if the rental car or van doesn't have AC.

I have seen a lot of waterfalls but this one is amazing. To get in there you have to walk through the rainforest and the water is so clear and refreshing. Good place for swimming and photos.
