With a competitively priced local rate on offer, Bailey proved to be a great valued hotel to base during a recent visit to cairns to attend a concert at the nearby CPAC.
Bailey is the last of the 3 Crystalbrook ‘siblings’ we have visited. And while Bailey doesn’t have the decadence and luxury of Riley or hipster party vibe of Flynn, it does provide a quiet artsy charm which was perfectly suited to our trip.
A few cons - the rooms are on the compact side, with no balcony on offer in the room we stayed. It felt a little claustrophobic, particularly with the signature green screens right outside the window obstructing the city view.
Soundproofing/acoustics could be improved. Guests entering/exiting in the wee hours were clearly heard. Grateful to be positioned towards the end of the corridor and not closer to lifts.
Pool restaurant/bar and Milkbar not operating. Appreciate Covid times require scale backs, but wasn’t aware prior to stay and it felt a little subdued/ghost town.
Pros - grab and go breaky (including surprisingly good coffee); free car parking; location - easy meander to esplanade restaurants etc; staff - friendly, professional, accomodating; price. More
- Free Wifi
