Really skilled and friendly crew, 2 breath taking sites of snorkling (with a scuba diving option). The Seastar guys genuinely bring a good Great Barrier Reef experience!

I did my discover dive with only !2! other people on Seastar and it was an amazing experience! Laura was very patient and helped us so well! We saw two turtles right in front of us. I booked Seastar because I didn’t wanted to be on a boat with 100 other people and it was the best decision I’ve made! We were only ~20 people on the boat and all the instructors were so friendly and helpful, very welcoming. The lunch buffet and afternoon “tea” was great, good variety of food, delicious and healthy. This tour is totally worth the money and I would definitely book it again!

It was wonderful to see the reef plus the additional coral cay. The staff were friendly and the typical kind of staff you get on these tours. Nice though and always helpful if you ask them for something. Not annoyingly nice like fake when they're pretending to be your friend like some tours do. They explained the fish and showed us around on 2 snorkel tours. The best 2 staff members I thought were the guy doing the glass bottom boat with the long hair and Ana. Both genuinely inspiring enthusiasm a bit more than the others I think! It seemed really genuine so thanks! Food was really good. you have to pay for pop and alcoholic drinks but water tea and coffee are free. Thanks for the food voucher for that restaurant too!

Some feedback for an extra premium service too if you don't mind:
- maybe bring the number of passengers down a smidge so everyone has a nice comfy bit of room
- maybe attach the safety number thing to the flippers and snorkels as well because I ended up with someone else's on the 2nd go because they get jumbled up
- the FB photos are a good idea ...even more would be a bonus as loads seemed to be of people on the boat but I think more in the water as that's the main experience....and you can take photos on the boat yourself but not always in the water.
Anyway thank you very much overall a great day! Xx

Hello JamJam,

Thanks for taking the time to write a review!

Our crew members are passionate about the reef and that shines through as they provide great customer service and a unique experience on board, thanks for acknowledging that.

To respond to your feedback:
- Our boat only takes 36 passengers, however we actually have a licence that allows us to take more. The boat may seem a bit full in the morning, while we fit people with fins and masks, but as soon as we are on the way there is plenty of space for everyone on the back deck and bow (weather permitting).
- Putting the safety numbers on the fins and mask is a great idea, but it presents logistical challenges, considering that we don't want to generate waste or put any dyes or chemicals on the equipment.
- We will give feedback to the snorkel guides and make sure we provide more underwater photos for customers to enjoy.

Thanks again for your review,
Seastar crew

In comparison to other tours a great 'little' boat (max 36 and we were with 24) that offers a great day, beatifull spots in the outter reef, great food and most of all amazing and friendly staff.

The price is a bit high, but it's more or less the same at other companies and defenitly worth the money!

For my first trip to the reef I chose Seastar and what an inspired decision it was! The crew are absolutely brilliant, it would be unfair to single one out as nothing was too much trouble for any of them. They were very knowledgeable and helpful about the reef, and looked after everyone equally whatever your experience. The lunch was delicious after a mornings activity before moving on to the next reef. If you come to Cairns you must have a trip with these guys and gals

Simply one of our best highlights in Australia - the Seastar crew is simply one of the best. They catered to all - those who were proficient divers to those who were very poor swimmers and each and everyone had a GREAT time. They operate like a very well oiled machine and were very personable and so easy to talk to. Anna whom we got to talk to the most was simply a JOY. Two snorkeling areas plus a glass-bottom boat ride - lots of opportunities to experience the beautiful Barrier Reef. Thank you Seastar for one of the most memorable trips we have had, Marcia & Shuna.

The trip was amazing, wonderfully put together by a crew that enjoys what it does and does it with a smile on their faces. They were knowledgeable, friendly and super helpful for first time divers.
I can't say enough about how much I enjoyed the trip, if you are in the area and want to see the underwater world, you would do well booking with this group.

Such a wonderful day exploring the Great Barrier Reef on Seastar. We really enjoyed every minute of our trip and this company totally live up to the great reviews. The crew are welcoming, professional, knowledgable and passionate. Safety was paramount during the day, equipment was first class and we felt totally looked after. Refreshments and lunch were delicious and plentiful. Both Michaelmas Cay and Hastings Reef were incredible for snorkelling and we had plenty of time to explore each site. The glass bottom boat tour was really interesting and we learned so much about the current situation with the coral and left feeling optimistic that the Great Barrier Reef will be just as splendid many years from now.
