My family and I were fortunate to do a reef trip with the silverswift team on their first outing since the shutdowns..we had a full day at the reef, visiting 3 sites.
My daughter (12) was quite unwell on the way out and the crew could not have been more caring and attentive. They re-arranged plans to move our dive to the 2nd site to allow time for her to feel better. We snorkelled the first site which was great with plenty of interesting coral and fish and a huge green sea turtle!
By the time of our 2nd site my daughter still not the best but Anelise ( I hope that’s correct) took amazing care of her while my husband and I did our dive with our son who was having an intro dive for first time. Paul our dive leader was fantastic, taking our son (14) thru everything while allowing my husband and I a little leeway as being already certified. Great site again with swim throughs, giant clams, and another turtle.
Time for lunch and as my daughter still not too great and only wanting some fruit, the lovely ladies insisted on doing her up a plate of food for her for later if she felt better..
So the fruit and ginger ale did the trick and by the 3rd site she was ok enough and wanted to also try an intro dive, as had been the plan all along. Paul was great and again re arranged things so we could all dive together at last site. Took my daughter thru all the pre-dive prep and in water skills with great care and so we finally got to all dive the reef together.
Can’t thanks everyone enough for their care and concern for my daughter and allowing us every opportunity to have the memorable family experience at the amazing reef we had wanted.
Best of luck to the crew and I hope the tourists ramp up again soon.
P.S. I recommend some travel pills from the chemist to take before boarding. They do offer ginger but we all had travacalm except my daughter...
