My partner & I chose to book the cruise as a special dinner, after having not seen each other for a few weeks because of work commitments. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves & recommend the event. Travelling under the brightly lit up Story Bridge was lovely.
I was pleased that tables were allocated & our friendly waiter showed us where we were sitting, rather than first in best dressed. The bar was open as soon as we boarded. If we drank a lot, it would have been an expensive evening after paying for the dinner/cruise upfront, but we stuck to 2-3 drinks each over the 3hrs which was reasonable.
I was hesitant about the food at first because I don't eat seafood, however the carvery & variety of other food available on the buffet was excellent & I barely fit it all in. Our 2-person table was quite small, had to shuffle a few things to fit everything on, though in saying that, the waiters were very fast at clearing plates that were finished with. Good service. Maybe some battery-operated candles would be nice on the tables. We had roast pork, beef in red wine jus, vegetables, lasagne, chicken & more. One suggestion would be that I would have liked to see soup as an optional entree with the bread rolls. The dessert was lovely, but no icecream. The black forrest cake was so good. The astmosphere was nice & the songs by the entertainment were fantastic. Good ol' school stuff which was great to hear. There was a 21st on the top level of our cruise who had a DJ playing doof-doof, yet we barely knew they were there. Overall, we had a fantastic time. We look forward to taking family or friends on our next trip.
