“We enjoyed ourselves & look forward to going back.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 January 2012

My partner & I chose to book the cruise as a special dinner, after having not seen each other for a few weeks because of work commitments. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves & recommend the event. Travelling under the brightly lit up Story Bridge was lovely.
I was pleased that tables were allocated & our friendly waiter showed us where we were sitting, rather than first in best dressed. The bar was open as soon as we boarded. If we drank a lot, it would have been an expensive evening after paying for the dinner/cruise upfront, but we stuck to 2-3 drinks each over the 3hrs which was reasonable.
I was hesitant about the food at first because I don't eat seafood, however the carvery & variety of other food available on the buffet was excellent & I barely fit it all in. Our 2-person table was quite small, had to shuffle a few things to fit everything on, though in saying that, the waiters were very fast at clearing plates that were finished with. Good service. Maybe some battery-operated candles would be nice on the tables. We had roast pork, beef in red wine jus, vegetables, lasagne, chicken & more. One suggestion would be that I would have liked to see soup as an optional entree with the bread rolls. The dessert was lovely, but no icecream. The black forrest cake was so good. The astmosphere was nice & the songs by the entertainment were fantastic. Good ol' school stuff which was great to hear. There was a 21st on the top level of our cruise who had a DJ playing doof-doof, yet we barely knew they were there. Overall, we had a fantastic time. We look forward to taking family or friends on our next trip.

“Kookaburra River Queens - Lunch & Cruise”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 January 2012

What can I say other than terrific and memorable, it was to celebrate my husbands 60th birthday and such a terrific choice.
The buffet lunch was such a wide and varied selection, with food there to suit all taste.
If you want a memorable day for something or someone special, give it a try, you will be glad you did.

“A good value lunch and river cruise”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 December 2011

We had hoped to get a longer / day cruise but there was nothing available during the few days we were in Brisbane, so we opted for the the lunch-time carvery cruise as a sort of consolation prize.
It was far better than expected, an hour and a half on a stern wheel paddle steamer with a good lunch and a reasonably priced bar. Free iced water, as much food as you want, and a couple of upper decks to stroll around after lunch. It was nice to wave at the somewhat crowded city tour boats below us.
The whole thing only cost 15 AUD more than a standard city tour, so it made for a very cheap meal by Brisbane standards and a much nicer boat to do the tour on.

“Relaxing day out on the Brisbane river”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 November 2011

What a great way to see Brisbane, it was so relaxing cruising along seeing the sights of Brisbane.(Kangaroo point, South bank and Brisbane city) We arrived on the river queen for Melbourne Cup to be greeted by the friendly staff with a glass of champagne.Shortly after leaving the pier we were asked to help ourselves to a beautifully presented buffet lunch it was yummy! Then we relaxed and took in the view of the river, stopping for the race and bested dressed, followed by dessert.
Thank you what a fun day, us 3 girls had a ball!

“A great night out on Brisbane river, excellent seafood buffet”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 October 2011

If you like prawns, oyster and moreton bay bugs (a cross between a crab and a small lobster/crayfish) you'll love this dinner cruise. For $85 or so per head it's good value, there are also roast meats and vegetables, curries and rice, vegetables, fruit and desert and cheese with tea and instant coffee.

The buffet is refilled regularly, there of plenty of seafood brought out and you are welcome to go back to the buffet as many times as you like, so don't snack before you board. The food quality is pretty good for a boat.

The cruise down the river and back is pleasant, we were lucky with the weather too, and the Friday and Saturday night cruises go longer, returning around 10pm. There is pretty decent live entertainment on board too, a 2 piece singer/musician couple, but the real entertainment was the hens night on our deck and the birthday party group on the top deck, they kept us amused all evening.

Drinks are reasonably priced, a little expensive but what you'd expect for a boat cruise in Brisbane which has become expensive for good food.

A fun night out, recommended.
