We happened across Grill'd when we were hungry, it was getting later in the evening and looking for somewhere to eat where there wasn't a huge queue and you could actually sit down was turning into something of a real mission. The selection on offer at Grill'd was pretty good and burgers lived up to what the menu promised. As I'm allergic to Bacon, but wanted to order the Queenslander burger, the crew were very happy to adapt my burger for my allergies and to my taste. The wait wasn't long and the food was very fresh. It's a burger that you want to eat again and again as it leaves you feeling full but with none of the usual greasy after taste. It's delicious and best of all they give something back to the local community, after ordering you get given a token to vote for one of local charities that receive a donation at the end of each month.

This Grill'd is part of a hometown success story, producing burgers of mammoth proportion and flavour and about as far from the golden arches as you can get. They have branches all over town and having sampled the fare at pretty much all of them, the standard remains consistently high. OK the prices aren't at the mass outlet bargain basement end of the scale, but by the time you wade through a classic "Queenslander" burger (others on offer too) you'll feel like you've eaten. Cutlery is supplied in case you can manage to get your hands and mouth around a burger in one piece. So go on and dive in to this or any Grill'd and experience the joy of having everything you can think of - fat patty, egg, lettuce. tomato, bacon, beetroot, etc.- piled onto a single bun. Give it a squirt or two of sauce, order a side of fries if you wish and wash it down with a beer or a soda and you'll have just had a real grown-up "happy meal".
