A family group of 5 adults and 4 children headed to Sings for a Birthday dinner on Saturday night and both the adults and children all enjoyed our meals.
Our starters of duck spring rolls, money bags, satay chicken and duck pancakes were delicious.
We all shared our mains with the red duck curry, fried kway teow, chicken curry, pork chop being the favourites.
All the servings were large and well priced and the service was friendly and helpful.
Last night me and a close friend visited on a whim, and it was an overall good experience. The place was very clean, and the booth seats we sat at were impeccable. Non-sticky or stained seats are rare for a booth seat at a restaurant busy on a Monday night.
The staff were very quick, very friendly, and very helpful. The food came out a lot quicker than expected and was overall pretty good. Between the 2 of us we got 4 entrees and 2 mains to share, and by the end of the night we were both stuffed; and that's saying something as both of us are very good eaters AND we're starving on top!
The golden bags and chicken satay sticks (with satay sauce to die for) were DELICIOUS and the dim sims and calamari were not the very ultra best but still quite nice - we polished off every plate (even the decorative lettuce.)
The only slight let down were the mains - still delicious but just not the dish we were expecting! The salty and spicy pork came out like little crunchy pork nuggets, whereas our Tasty King Prawn was quite nice and fresh.
- although to be fair, when asked the waitress what the best dishes were we didn't heed her advice at all, and instead braved the 70+ item menu with no guidance lol.
Outstanding service, quick wait times, and nice, simple, tasty, hot Asian cuisine.
We (family of 4) hadn't visited an Asian restaurant for quite some time but the two children (one pre-teen and one teenager) were keen to go so we undertook a search and Sings Asian Kitchen popped up (with very good reviews). We had pre-booked but walk-ins and take-away orders are both welcomed. We arrived at 6.15 pm on a Thursday night, were seated immediately and then given time to check out all the menu fare on offer: Chinese, Vietnamese and Thai options (including a decent variety of vegetarian meals, soups and salads), along with a list of Signature dishes. We ordered three appetizers to share (Honey King Prawns, Peking Duck wraps and Salt and Spicy Calamari - all perfectly cooked, delicious and generous sizes) and three main meals to share: Garlic King Prawns (from the Chinese meals list), Yellow Curry, with chicken (from the Thai/Vietnamese list), and Ketchup Pork Chops (Signature list) which sounds unusual but was divine. The ample serve of jasmine steamed rice comes in its own dish so you can control how much rice you want with each dish you're tasting, and we also ordered a small bowl of the coconut rice (which was a perfect complement for the Yellow Curry). There was plenty of food for the four of us, and every meal was delicious (savoured and devoured!). We found the prices very reasonable ($5-8 for appetizers; the most expensive main we ordered was $15.90 but many meals are cheaper and I couldn't see anything costing more than $17.90). What was super-impressive was the service - the owners and their staff are 100% committed to serving you quickly and efficiently, and always with a smile. It's been a long time since I've seen wait staff move with such a spring in their steps - I'd forgotten what that looked like! For a Thursday night, it didn't take long before all the tables were filled, and we enjoyed seeing so many different meals coming out from the kitchen. We are already thinking about what we will try next time we visit (as there are SO many good choices on the menu). The restaurant is BYO, and I would recommend it to anyone (either dine-in or take-away). It was a perfect night out, and we'll definitely be returning.
You know the conversation" I'd love spring rolls"
" Love some chilli and pad thai"" Can we please have fried rice?" Sings is the place to enjoy quick and tasty dishes of China, Vietnam and Thailand and so please the mob. We loved our garlic king prawns and chicken with garlic, I found some of the curries a bit sweet but this popular dine in and takeway restaurant tries to please all palates. it's friendly, efficient, value for money and reliable and everyone gets their fav! Park in Cavendish Rd or at the back car park, busy Friday evenings so go early, 6 ish.
