We ended our Oz trip visiting an old favourite place, when we moved to Oz in 1991 we stayed here until we found somewhere to live, we ended up staying for 6 weeks and loved every minute of it. We often called in to look over the place whenever we visited Brisbane, but never actually stayed there again until this trip. The place had just been renovated and was spotless, everything was new, the sevice was very good, and the area fairly quiet, although the motorway was just off the entrance and it was the weekend that school finished so every man and his dog was heading for the Gold Coast! Handy to everthing, although the traffic around Brisbane is horrific, (not Gateways fault of course!)!, but a bit of a worry for us Kiwis used to Orewa traffic! We stayed for 2 nights and were pleasenty surprised with the changes there, there seemed to be a lot more cabins and less caravan parking, the pool seemed to be bigger than we remembered and there were more play areas for kids, not that us old f#rts were worried about that of course! We would not hesitate to reccomend Gateway to anone, just don't go on holiday weekends as the traffic gets bus on the motorway, if you do ask for a cabin away from the entrance, although the noise was not enough to stop us sleeping, so it can't be that bad!
