“Fantastic Hotel & Outstanding Staff”
Reviewed 23 March 2012

We stayed here for 2 nights in February, on a Thursday and Friday night. It was unbelievable!! We have stayed at many different hotels around the world and this hotel was probably the best we have ever been in. Our room was beautiful. It had a really high ceiling, was very spacious, beautiful decor and spotless. We were travelling with our 2 yr old son. As we requested a king bed (the most comfortable one ever), the staff brought both a cot and a roll-away bed for us to choose from for our little boy. After deciding on the cot they even offered to make it up for us. On request they happily emptied the mini bar and fridge so our son couldn't get into mischief. Absolutely NOTHING was a hassle for the staff. We roamed around the different floors just admiring the old world charm and the gorgeous old fashioned lift (this one is not in use these days). The location couldn't be beat. Right in the heart of it. The Casino across the road (if thats your thing), heaps of shops and restaurants and more importantly for us, a 10 min walk to Southbank. Southbank has a man made water play area for kids. Even though it was raining on and off our son loved its little beach, pools and water jets. It was hard to get him out of it. My In-laws visited us from the Gold Coast (we are from NSW) and they absolutely loved the Hotel. Even though the windows are double glazed, we did hear music at night from the pubs and restaurants across the road, but it didn't really bother us (and didn't wake our son up). We never heard noise from any other room. Although the room was beautiful and exceeded our expectations and the location was excellent, it was the staff that we were most impressed with. I kept asking my husband where the Red Carpet was. Seriously, we never passed a single staff member who didn't look genuinely happy to be there. They were always smiling and happy to greet us and couldn't do enough for us. Their service was exceptional. I could go on and on about this hotel. The hotel and Casino have a few restaurants to choose from but you have to be over 18 to eat there. The staff recommended Cafe 21. This is located in the Casino across the street. We ate all our main meals there as they were absolutely delicious. We didn't want to go elsewhere. Our only regret.....we weren't able to stay longer. We would never hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone and will definately stay here any time we travel to Brisbane in the future. Thank you to all the Staff at The Treasury & Casino. You certainly made our little get away a very memorable one :)

Room Tip: Maybe request a room that is not opposite the Casino as the music is a little disturbing at night. I...

We stayed at the Treasury Casino for two nights, Saturday and Sunday night. The room we stayed in was gorgeous. Very high ceilings, old world heritage fittings, private entry way made for a very richly decorated room. The room had a great wardrobe, chest of drawers for easy storage, large flat screen tv and adjustable air conditioning that was quiet. The room was definitely on the large side. We did not feel cramped at all. The bed was absolutely one of the best hotel beds I have ever slept in.

The bathroom was also nice - marble and wood. The only negative was the high claw foot style baths were a little difficult to get in and out of. I'm not sure if each room has these or not but should be a consideration for someone unable to navigate this height if injured, elderly etc.

The in-room safe was great - you used a swipe card set up by the casino - not something I have seen before, but easy to navigate.

Servicing of the room was sporadic, attended to perfectly on Saturday including turn down service, but on Sunday turn down was not completed. While this was not a big issue, it did put a blemish on standards that were pretty high.

On Sunday we ate at the Lab Restaurant and had a drink at the bar across from check-in before hand. Both venues (while food quality and service was to a high standard) lacked atmosphere and were fairly quiet. (I guess it was a Sunday night in February in Brisbane so perhaps this should have been expected).

Room service was exceptional. I did not feel like the bigger meals on the breakfast menu and they happily obliged in altering what was on the room service menu to suit my needs and this was done with minimum fuss. It arrived quickly and was hot.

I found the staff to be friendly and willing to assist. It was a lovely venue and very convenient to the Brisbane Mall, including Myer Centre and Queens Plaza, Southbank and of course the casino is over the road.
The only downside: We did get some nightclub noise from across the road on Saturday evening, although this seemed to quiet down after midnight. I think our room was on the noisy side and you could ask for one on the other side of the building and it would be fine.

Room Tip: Rooms on William St side may be quieter than those facing the park

I don't gamble. I stay here only for work and while the Emporium is my favourite one of my clients has a preferred hotels listing so.......having said that happy to stay here any time. Very close to the city, if u gamble this is the spot! Parking a dream aside from convincing the barrier lady to let you in as a hotel guest. Saw a patron get busted for leaving a kid in car but the site is very proactive on checking cars for this. The hotel is pure of school colonial English. Huge high ceilings, thick walls, all v cool. Comfy bed, good food, ok bar. I am a real fan of this place and ten second drive to the riverside expressway! Staff are great, the lift is mental old. Great location for older person travelling.

Room Tip: All rooms I've been in have been good

We arrived at the Treasury Hotel very early in the morning from an overnight flight -- check in was at 3 pm but the staff went out of their way to take care of us -- they got the room ready in record time, suggested where to eat while we waited and when we came back had everything ready, including upgrading our room. The hotel itself was wonderful and our room was the best we had in three weeks in Australia -- feather beds to die for, lots of room in an immaculate suite and fabulous homemade cookies every night!. Even so, we were most impressed with the ongoing support we got from every staff person -- no question was too small, no request too minor to have their full attention. We were back for 2 days at the end of our stay and wished we could have stayed for longer!

Room Tip: We had a room with a balcony -- terrific view which we loved -- but the downside is that a number of...

The room was spotlessly clean, the staff were exceptionally friendly. Its nice to stay in a hotel with some history mixed with luxury. The location is excellent and within a short walk to most of the activities you would consider doing in Brisbane.
