We started off having lunch in the botanic gardens, had a look round at the flowers and plants which was ok, but not really our "thing" and then got the bus to the top of Mt Coot-tha. The view was suprisingly good even though the weather was cloudy. We spent an hour up there and that was plenty of time for us.

fun for all the family . Took my kids and my grandkids and we all enjoyed it - great days outings for all - good idea to take your own food and drink though.

I enjoyed walking around the Brisbane city botanic gardens, but once I visited the botanic gardens at Mount Coot-tha, I realized there was no comparison. There are three or four separate rainforest areas, and those were my favorite, but each display was well done and fascinating. And the birds! It's an easy and enjoyable field trip out from the city and works well accompanied by a visit to the Mount Coot-tha lookout.
