This is a little gem in the northwest of Brisbane. If you have a spare 90 minutes or so and $16 per adult and $9 per child, give it a visit. The tram rides are quite relaxing, and the volunteers know their stuff. The kids will love it.
We enjoyed our visit and the staff were really helpful. While the track is short - and a loop would be better - it was a good ride and we traveled on 3 different trams.
Families and all ages would enjoy this!
We have lived about 3 km from this place for 20 years and never visited. The volunteers clearly love their trams, plenty of stories, they love a chat and good to see the kids getting excited about a ride on the trams. Good way to spend a hour or so.
If you are into transport and trams, this is a place where old trams are preserved and the stories kept alive
the tram museum celabrated 50 since brisbane lost its trams thank you to all volenters including Sel & Andrew who went out of their way to show people around a huge crowd attended great day & night
This museum is fantastic. Well maintained gardens, lots of interesting information on how Brisbane was serviced by these amazing trams. They've really captured the tram era which ended in 1969. I went along to the 50th anniversary of the tramway closure. It was well organised. Close to ferny Grove train station. Five minute walk from the train. I suggest catching trains from the city and commuting if you're not familiar with the area. The tram rides are fun. You go through different models in rotation so it's always interesting plus there is information given by volunteers during the ride. Great for kids too.
