Description: Welcome to MU'OOZ a new and unique cultural dining experience here in Brisbane's West End. Originally located in Moorooka, Brisbane's "Little Africa" you will be able to enjoy the tastes & ambience of a traditional Eritrean Restaurant right here in Brisbane. Mu'ooz was established in 2008 following Government funding approval for this unique community-based project and with the support of many dedicated believers in our Vision where the profits from our business are directed back to our community via the Eritrean Women and Family Support Network. Called Muooz, which means tasty and healthy in Tigrinya, our dining experience has been shared with thousands so far and whose support h as allowed us to win The Regional Restaurant award in 2013. Enjoy the dining experience of sharing platters of amazing food with friends in the traditional manner, whilst savouring the aroma of coffee beans roasting over an open flame ready to make the distinctive coffee our restaurant is renowned for!! You will be proudly hosted by our professionally trained team, many who have a history of being refugee women from war-torn Eritrea and surrounding Horn of Africa countries. We hope you enjoy our food which we cook from the heart and look forward to you visiting us soon.

Since we hit two other restaurant earlier, we decided to try African/Ethiopian this week. Food was nothing I imagined and rather familiar taste, my wife's.
we had 4 different dips, tasted like lentil, salsa, raita & one more I couldn't identified. Then the main, lamb, goat & chicken. All tasted similar to thick gravy Indian curry. The bread, it's looks & tasted between dosa and pancake, enjoyed them. Couldn't try their native beer, sold out. Did try Ethiopian coffee, very different from neighboring country Greek & Turkey. Bit watery & nutty, later asked waitress then found there're ginger & cardamom, loved the serving ceramic pitcher.
Well last couple weeks, Brisbane is having very hot weather and hard to dine but just imagining dine in their country.
There were quite many large pack (more than 10), a few couples and threesome with 2 waitress you can imagine but no one complained. This will be the place we will bring our friends.

I recently celebrated a birthday by dining with friends at Mu'ooz. What a great cause! Mu’ooz provides employment and trainee-ships for African refugee women. For women who have suffered traumatic experiences of war, poverty and had little opportunity for education, Mu'ooz gives both employment and new opportunities that help the healing process. Authentic North-East African fare, the food is interesting and tasty. My husband ordered the goat dish which he loved. And I especially loved the African donuts … yum! What a wonderful social enterprise getting behind a very worthwhile cause!

Tasty food in a friendly and laid-back setting. We had a share platter for 2 which let us try a few dishes.
Kids were kept happy with childrens' meals (fish and chips). I was impressed with the fish which was not battered, but rather pan-fried and delicious.

We had a vegetarian platter. Yum! Plenty of food, delicious, good service although we were sitting away from the main groups and were forgotten a bit.
A great social enterprise for refugees. I highly recommend this restaurant.
