Boucher is an unusually sophisticated restaurant for its location. Professional wait staff (mostly French or Portuguese) are attentive without being invasive, the menu is authentic and presentation is superb. Being BYO and having easy on-street parking are also attractions. For visitors to Brisbane, it would be easy enough to reach by train. Go early or just be ready to speak up to be heard when it is full to the gunnels.

We had heard mixed reviews of this restaurant but five of us decided to give it a go on Saturday and were pleasantly surprised. Despite the restaurant being full and therefore somewhat noisy the kitchen did seem to be turning out the food at a reasonable pace and the floor staff were at pains to reassure us and present us with tasters while we waited for our food.
The service was pleasant and our food very good. We had five different mains and all of us were more than satisfied. Deserts were similarly well presented and delicious. Certainly there were no complaints from us and we will return.

This is the second time we have been to this restaurant. The first time was ok but we weren't in the mood so we thought we should give it another chance aince it is local and we have heard great things. However it just doesn't live up to its reputation. Its ok it just not great. The service is a little underwhelming. Our waitress just didn't seem to know what was going on. Its BYO Red and White but not Bubbles which it doesn't state on the website. Our food was ok but again not amazing (especially for the price). My bug tails tasted great but they still had the poo tube in them. My duck was a little dry. My apple tartain was a bit burnt. Plus eveyrthing was under seasoned, Even the pomme frittes! All things that shouldn't happen in a restauarant of this calibre and price point. My wifes quail roulade was nice and her bett desert was amazing. However her pork main was dry, lacked sauce and just was average. at $100/head I just expect more....
