Description: At Jellyfish we aim to source and serve daily a school of 8 to 14 species of fish, to learn about and understand the textures and specific qualities of each species so we can then recommend the best way to cook and serve it. Our chefs create sauces, batters and crumbs as well as an extensive range of side dishes that perfectly compliment the meal. Absolute riverfront, this is arguably the best located restaurant in Brisbane enjoying striking views of the river and the Story Bridge. The décor is fresh and bright with the lines between indoors and out delightfully blurred. We offer a superior wine list of boutique, eclectic and lesser known vineyards as well as firm favourites from the new and old world. Service in the restaurant, the 35-seat Private Dining Room and in our newly expanded bar is always gracious, friendly and relaxed.

The other night we went as a faily of 3 to dine at Jellyfish. The staff were warm, welcoming and hospitable. Our little girl was treated with as much respect as we were which really made her evening.
The food was delicious, especially the popcorn shrimp, have not tasted any thing like it before, so moreish. We also had the scallops and the roast chicken with mashed potato, which was equally wonderful. The three of us really enjoyed our meal. Thank you Jellyfish for the beautiful food and for the amazing service.

Very ordinary and overpriced food. The wait staff would be more at home in a country town RSL club. Avoid at all cost if you are looking for fine food and service; it is an overpriced tavern.

Good morning Mark. Thanks for taking the time to provide your feedback. We do appreciate feedback, be it positive or negative and continually try to improve and evolve our menu offering and appreciate all feedback to assist us in this endeavour. We always appreciate constructive feedback, especially areas that we can improve. In this instance we would appreciate more specific feedback about your experience, as i can assure you that good or bad, being referred to as an ‘RSL Club’ is a first, especially given so many other positive experiences being detailed here on TA. That being said, as we continue to work on our business and the offering (both food and service) we would certainly appreciate some more specific feedback of your experience and in receiving it ensure that it is passed on to the Restaurant Management team and the Head Chef and Group Exec Chef. I can be contacted personally and directly via email on (Chris@bv.net.au).

First time to visit Jellyfish and we came away well satisfied. For starters we had sashimi fish which was served with the correct accompaniments. The fish was fresh and dellicious. Main course Baby Barramundi in a soy sauce. Beautifully cooked and tasted lovely. Dessert was a trio of sweets - taste superb.
Service excellent - water replenished continually. Well done staff!

The view from the dining room is great and the concept around fresh seafood a winner. On both occaisions I had tempura battered fish which was very good. On both occaisions a nice enough amuse bouche of salmon on cucumber. Sides varied in quality and heat on both visits. The first visit the service was hampered by a long delay in the kitchen with a wait of over an hour and 15 minutes for the mains and then 20 minutes between the first main being served and the last. A complimentary bowl of shoestrings appeared at about 45 minutes and then two dessert platters to share for our table of 10 at the end. We were hosting an international visitor and the situation became embarrassing, updates such as your food will be here in 20 minutes at half an hour and then your food is nearly ready were well off the mark. The kitchen had run out of time re the steaks for a non seafood eater and so the medium-well was rare and left largely untouched. The second visit was a smoother event, also with international guests, however sides still varied in terms of heat. Brussel sprout sides were the best of the four sides ordered. Wine list is OK but not great and the place is pricy for wine and food. The first visit was so poor I almost cancelled the second one, however the matre'd was genuinely apologetic and so gave it another go. Jellyfish partially redeemed itself and given the cost there is better value to be found in the centre of Brisbane.

Hi Ross&415. Thanks for taking the time to provide your feedback and furthermore thanks for giving us that second try. While we do work on the business constantly, especially the food and service offering, we have certainly;y experienced some hardships recently with staffing turnover (especially in the kitchen). We continue to work on this to improve. We appreciate the detailed feedback, that i can assure has been passed on to the Group Exec Chef, who is currently working with the Head Chef and his team to improve these things. Your time to provide your feedback is appreciated.

Went for dinner Firday night, ordered a crispy skin fish and fettucinne. Waiter got our order wrong, came back with cold, soggy skin, overcooked fish. with a sad cubed "mexican" salad, nothing Mexican about it. Pasta was soupy, and bland. seafood however on the pasta, was cooked very nicely.
Service was not great either, had to keep asking them for water.
Such a disappointment.

Hi AshleyM06, we thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback and happy to advise that the feedback you provided was actioned and a new amended menu offering presented that is being worked through by our Group Exec Chef, with the Head Chef and his team. Many of these things have been addressed and we do hope you will give us the opportunity to showcase this. I can be contacted directly to discuss or facilitate your next visit if that was to be an option. I can be contacted via email (chris@bv.net.au).
