Great spot for fish and chips outside on the wharf at night. Pretty good value and the fish is usually fresh. You can slo feed to fish off the wharf if you like.

There seems to have been some real hard work done to make this a good tourist spot, and it is certainly getting there, with more work still continuing.
Lovely views over the water, a couple of attractions on the way down including the wave pool for kids and the WWII tunnels for history buffs, a nice new business and entertainment precinct, and then a lovely walk or drive down the wharf watching people fish, and reaching the restaurants/food court down the end.
The open air "food court" is mostly seafood or Asian food, but all looked and smelled fresh and delicious. Appreciated the NT laws that seafood must be clearly labelled 'local' or 'imported' and enjoyed some fresh local barramundi.
Sunset is a great time to enjoy the chilled out atmosphere at the tables on the edge of the wharf with a nice cool breeze and a cool drink - alcohol is available.
To get there it is a nice walk down from town via some footbridges and pathways, but you can also drive all the way out on to the wharf, and as a single woman I felt glad I took the advice to do this at night, especially as I saw the police cruise by and learned on the news next day there had been an assault along the walking paths.
This is a bit like a food hall with various stalls to buy food from. Of course, it is mainly seafood but there is a good selection of other meals if you are not a seafood eater. Great relaxed atmosphere. Perfect for a lazy Sunday afternoon lunch.
Pleasant space to spend some relaxing time by the water. good cafes - great crab - no preservatives --- gotta love that when you're from the inland?!! :o)
In the morning, I was able to jog uninterrupted, enjoying the fresh air and the cool ocean breeze. I was also able to meet some fishing hobbyists waiting for their catch. At sunset, it becomes a romantic place where I was surrounded by sea gulls who are waiting to be fed. Some even perched at the guest's tables.I was entertained by them while waiting for my orders from a seafood restaurant towards the end of the wharf.
I found many selections but I chose the steak and seafood platter where the serving is so generous. The steak is properly cooked and tender to the bite. After dinner, while strolling along the wharf, we saw a cornerstone which told about the history of the wharf. It added to the value of the place to know its story.
The Darwin Wharf Precinct is one of the unforgettable places I've been to Darwin and will definitely go back to this place the next time I visit.
Enjoyed a pretty sunset, bit like an outdoor food court but we had a group so we could all get something different to eat then ice cream & feed the fish. Also had a beautiful $30 half lobster & cheap drinks from the seafood restaurant down the end. Staff were lovely.
