I first stayed here 2 years ago for 1 night. I loved it then and I love it now. This time we had a executive room with spa. Superb! The staff are very friendly and helpful and organise anything you need. It's so central to everything, Mitchell street is 1 street back and the waterfront is a 10 minute stroll. We'll definitely be going back and we'll stay here again.

We spent four nights here overall, extremely comfortable. The pool is awesome because in mid to late afternoon the sun is off it just enough that it's really refreshing after a day's sight seeing. Great breakfast cafe, really good staff, excellent value all round.

This hotel stands out in the centre of Darwin as it’s not a high rise building like most hotels, but is set amongst palm trees around a pool. It’s well situated opposite the Bicentennial Park and you can walk to the main areas where there are bars and restaurants. We had a garden bungalow which was lovely, though quite small, so when you arrive with 2 medium sized cases you’re not sure where to put them both. That said we really enjoyed our stay here and the staff in reception were really helpful.

We have just stayed for two nights at Palms and it ticked just about all of our boxes. We had a tropical villa, comfortable bed, reasonable kitchen/living space, bathroom a bit on the tight side. Warm welcome from the reception team on arrival and departure, all staff seemed very pleasant. A nice place to stay in a convenient location, very relaxing after visiting Kakadu.

This location deserved at least four or five stars, the accommodation and easy location to the Darwin City and Waterfront is a major plus.
But for one issue - smoking. We booked the Garden Bungalow Villa (which was excellent, no complaints or issues there) and i would recommend this to anybody like ourselves who dislike sterile hotel rooms.
But the accommodation is joined to another villa and the verandah's are only divided by a lattice screen, we had the unfortunate problem of being next to two disgusting chimney smokers, so our enjoyment of the front verandah was limited to use, to only when are neighbours weren't there. This is a major issue as the only table and chairs are on the front verandah, so all your cooking and eating must be done there. Management should in this day and age (2017) enforce a more strident anti-smoking policy in relation to their accommodation, or build a better screen between the villas to cut down on this filthy habit inflicting itself on couples like us, while having breakfast or enjoying the late afternoon coolness, without being forced inside to avoid the smell of cigarettes.
Again i clearly state i would have given this location four or five stars except for this issue.
