“Absolutely Amazing and extremely educational and fun!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 September 2011

My family and I had so much fun on this tour. We had people of all ages from 50 down to age 10 and we all enjoyed ourselves. Jim and Roque made sure that we enjoyed ourselves and the cultural information that Roque provided was the highlight of the tour along with being able to partake in cultural activities. I would recommend this tour to anyone. Thoroughly Enjoyable!!

“Awesome cultural tour”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 September 2011

We went on this tour by chance. We wanted to do see the turtles, but our trip to Darwin didnt coincide with the tour dates. We were offered the sunset cultural tour instead, and I must say I was a bit unsure of what we were in for. We had heard so many negative things about the indigenous people in Darwin. But then we met Rocky, and on reflection this tour is probably the thing that we will remember most about our holdiay. We went to a beach at the back of the harbour (saw and stopped to see the dolphins on the way) and went ashore where Rocky showed us how to make a bracelet from bark, which still decorates my handbag. We had heaps of fun with the woomera and spears (don't mess with him he is an awesome shot). It was a great way to spend an evening, and to top it off, in the way back we learned that he is the artist who painted the Ghan train! It was a priviledge to meet him and to do the tour.

Hi Fiona,
Thank you for your review. We agree that Roque is a real character. It was the SA/NT freight link train that he painted back in 2003. He also has community art works in Rain Tree Park and West Lane in Darwin as well as Palmerston. He has work on exhibition in the National museum, and he is the one that makes the message sticks for the Darwin Convention Centre. Aside from his artistic talents he is a great interpretative guide, so how very lucky is Sea Darwin!

“World Class”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 August 2011

I came across the Turtle Tour by chance walking at the waterfront area in Darwin. It turned out to be the highlight of my time in Darwin. The trip on the boat itself is a real experience, but to go to such a remote island and see the turtles was amazing. The crew were really professional, especially with their knowledge of the turtles and the island. The whole experience was equal to any I have had else where in the world. Would highly recommend.

“Highly recommended”

Loved everything about Darwin and I would highly recommend Sea Darwin as the skipper Jim is very friendly and extremely knowledgeable. The boat is comfortable and its a great way to see Darwin harbour. Looking forward to our next visit and we will make sure we book in early to make sure we don't miss out on the Turtle tour at Sunset.

Thankyou for your review. Because Darwin Harbour is huge, has so many hidden secrets and wonderful animals living in it, you never know what you might see. Each tour is different because of the tidal range of up to 8 meters, every thing tropical, and our wonderful weather of course. Did you know that Darwin Harbour is seven times the area of Sydney Harbour (checkout Google Earth if you don't believe me) and currently has the same population that Sydney had in 1850! It really is a special place in Australia

“Amazing Experience”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 July 2011

Must do for young & old. We were over awed by the occasion, getting to watch turtles lay eggs in their own natural environment. We also got to hold day old babies & release them into the ocean. Sunset was amazing.

So glad you enjoyed your experience. We agree that sunset at Bare Sand is awesome, and you are right about young and old. Our oldest has been 85 years and she had a grin on her face for the whole trip! It's also great to connect kids with the turtles - we believe that the interactive experience is something that they remember for a very long time.
