This is THE place to stay near Uluru and definitely worth the extra money. The service, accomodations and food was all flawless, our guide was incredibly knowledgable and fascinating and passionately committed to communicating the unique attributes of Aboriginal culture.

The "tents" are lovely, with a beautiful view. The cuisine and service is outstanding. They go out of their way to make your stay as comfortable and delightful as possible.

Longitude 131 is an amazing place and we are so thrilled we chose to stay there. The rooms are brilliant, the service exceptional, the food and drink awesome, the excursions first class!! Oh yes - then there is the view!!!!!!!

It may look expensive in the brochure but it is the only place where you can see Ayres Rock from your room and when you consider EVERYTHING else (including a first class wine list) is included I doubt the total cost would be that much more than you would spend at the other "quality" resorts in the area. The experience at L131 however is on another planet!!

The trips are excellently done and you should go on all of them regardless of the weather. On the second day it was very overcast and we had a disappointing sunrise trip, and the sunset trip looked like it may go the same way. A couple staying at the resort did not come in the evening which they then regretted because we got the most astonishing sunset despite the clouds.

We also did the helicopter flight which was fantastic and gives a totally different perspective of Ayes Rock and the area. Final point - two nights is enough provided you get there in time for the afternoon trips on the day of arrival.

Room Tip: There are a couple of rooms near the main building that may not have such spectacular views but I un...

My wife and I were fortunate enough to stay for two nights at this marvelous resort. The views of the awe-inspiring monolithic rock formation, Uluru, defy description and our room was lovely in every respect. The cuisine in the restaurant was superb, and while the grasshoppers prevented us from dining under the stars, this was only a minor inconvenience. The chef presented remarkable lunch and dinner offerings featuring local produce, complemented by fine Australian wines, and the restaurant staff were unfailingly gracious and professional. The various included excursions were most interesting, and the guides made the trekking expeditions informative and indeed moving with their commentary on the significance of the various sites to the ages-old aboriginal culture. Stretch your travel budget and take the plunge - you will not be disappointed!

We agonised about going to Longitude 131; all the hotels in Yulara are expensive, and this one is eye-wateringly pricey in relation to our income. But we wanted to make this a special trip, and stumped up for a two night stay.

We were delighted. The service was impeccable, the food exquisite, the wine very much to our taste and of course the location is outstanding. We enjoyed all the excursions offered in the hotel package with friendly and knowledgable guides who were able to give plenty of information without overloading. A superb experience, one that we will probably never be able to afford again but are glad to have experienced.

Our room was great, we could lie in bed and look at Uluru, as advertised. What we had not realised, but should have noticed in the photographs, it that there is a short row of rooms that have other guest rooms in front. They by no means obscure the view, but they do put a human construct in the way of one of the most extraordinary and iconic natural vistas on the planet. What a pity.

We added a helicopter flight: I usually eschew scenic flights as being overpriced and tacky. Uluru and Kata Tjuta from the air gives a whole new perspective on this extraordinary landscape. I left with a memory that will last a lifetime.
