Have just returned home after spending four nights at Yulara Sails in the desert. The accommodation we chose was a Terrace room, and although on the pricey side, our comfort level while there, made it all worth it. Very pleased we had the buffet breakfast included in our tariff. Plenty to choose from, and a good start to the day.The bed on the first night was a little too firm for our liking, but this rectified by the placement of a mattress topper the following day. While some of the furnishings are a bit dated and in need of a facelift, this is forgiven because of the spacious floor plan, with an outside terrace to match. (We were located on the first floor looking towards the pool area. There was no issue with noise, despite the property being fully booked. The only real downside of our room was the rather high bath that you had to climb into to have a shower. A walk in shower is always my preference.
No fault could be found with any of the staff. Everyone was welcoming and efficient. If any problems expressed, these were addressed promptly and professionally.
During our stay we celebrated a special occasion, so it was a lovely surprise to receive a complimentary bottle of sparkling wine.
The time of our stay was early September and the weather was perfect, average day time temperature around 25C and while some flies, not a problem.
We would not hesitate to stay at Sails in the Desert again and thoroughly recommend.

Stayed here for 3 nights and found the resort clean and expansive. The restaurants are great and being an Accor plus member gave me great discounts on dining. The apartment was
bright and spacious with a comfortable bed. View out over the grounds and pool area was pleasant. Staff were friendly and helpful. The only negative was the pool being too cold to swim in. It said it was heated but wasn’t working when we were there.
Plenty of lounges around the pool area and grounds made relaxing very easy. Overall a very enjoyable stay.

We stayed at the Emu Walk Apartments but frequented Sails a few times for morning/afternoon tea or lunch after we worked out that they had the best coffee in town. Pleasant surroundings. Service reasonably good.

I had been eager to stay at Sails in the desert as an added highlight to our visit to Uluru, and on the whole it didn’t disappoint. It really is a lovely oasis- peaceful and gracious, despite large numbers of tourists. The lobby area, breezeways, room decor and fittings (especially bathroom) are tired looking and need an upgrade, but these things did not detract from the vibe of the environment. The grove of ghost gums are particularly spectacular.. thoroughly appreciated from the vantage of an outside evening dining option. Kalpana, provided us with knowledgable suggestions from the shared plates dining menu. The staff throughout the resort were welcoming and discretely attentive throughout.
Buffet breakfast was only just ok, standard fare and expensive at $40 per head, espresso coffee is not included. We should have chosen better value alternatives a mere 5 minute walk away at the retail village.
