Our kids love reptiles so went there and it was absolutely worth it. Good to see all the "bad" and good snakes so close and have a good read about them. We loved the live show...

“Upclose Experience of Northern Territory ”
Reviewed 5 February 2017 via mobile

Not busy on a Sunday in Feb, so the owner gave us a private tour. The variety of reptiles was very good with labels on each exhibit. Great location in Alice Springs, easy to get to, with street parking available. Cost was $17 for adults and $14 for seniors.

“Reptile center”
Reviewed 31 January 2017 via mobile

As part of our Alice Springs tour, we spent about an hour at the reptile center. We got a tour from the manager, Rex, and he did not disappoint. Knowledgeable, quick witted, funny, dedicated.
He was hilarious, and he knew his stuff. Well worth the stop.

“Close encounters”
Reviewed 25 January 2017

We spent the afternoon at the Alice Springs reptile centre and absolutely loved every second of it! The staff was very friendly and was able to tell us all about these amazing reptiles. At the end of our visit, we were even able to hold a real life python, which was a thrilling, but most of all, unforgettable experience. Thank you for the great time!

“Fantastic experience for kids and adults”
Reviewed 22 January 2017

We chose to go to the reptile centre rather than the desert park because it was a lot cheaper (around $40 for a family) and we only wanted to spend a couple of hours rather than a whole day. We were not disappointed - in fact we all had a wonderful afternoon. We arrived just at the end of the hands on experience in the middle of the day - they said we could look around and if we had finished we could leave and come back later for the next hands on display, which is what we did.

The displays were great, lots of geckos, lizards, frogs, snakes, perentie and a crocodile. The animals were fascinating and the information provided was interesting. It only took about an hour to see all the animals, so we walked into town and browsed around for a while before walking back for the keeper talk. The centre is close to other attractions such as the Royal Flying Doctor Service, so they can be seen on the same day.

The keepers were knowledgeable and friendly and obviously loved reptiles. They handled the animals carefully and lovingly, and then we were able to hold some - a bearded dragon, a blue-tongued lizard and an olive python. The kids were thrilled - and the staff were happy to help my small 7 year old hold the large snake, she was so excited. The staff were respectful of anyone who didn't want to hold the reptiles, they gently encouraged them to pat the animals if they wanted to, but didn't push.

The gift shop had cute little animal souvenirs that the kids were able to afford too. We all had a wonderful afternoon and it stood out for us as a well managed, affordable wildlife experience. It wasn't flash or fancy, but the staff and the information and experience gained were all amazing.
