The Sanctuary puts Alice Springs back on the map for me. I always liked A Town Like Alice by Nevil Shute, and the old time mini series.
Chris Barnes, Brogla, is the real deal. Committed, articulate and humble. May he remain so, with the onslaught of international recognition. I loved this tour, and I have taken many tours. The much maligned kangaroo has a real champion here. Thank you.

If you go to Australia, you want to see kangaroos.
See them in the outback with the sunset in the back, it's something you won't forget.

Brolga will show everything you need to know about them. And you won't see them like you would in a zoo. This is a kind a reserve, kangaroos are free to move and will run away if you try to get close to them, except thoses who are lived too long with people. You can also hold some baby kangaroos.

Meet brolga from "kangaroo Dundee" tv show and his family of kangaroos. He will tell you about his sanctuary and why he set it up. You can hold a Joey and walk around his land seeing kangaroos being fed, whilst the sun goes down. Make the call and go not to be missed.

"Kangaroo Dundee" rescues kangaroos (usually a joey after its mother was hit by a car) and raises them in this sanctuary. Most get returned to the wild, but some need to say - and everyone gets to hold a joey for at least five minutes (no passing a joey from person to person). The tour is at dusk and soon the larger kangaroos come out to feed. Plenty of kangaroos to see and get close to. A highlight of our trip - and the sunset was spectacular! Note that you need to arrive on the bus that is provided.

Brolga and his bouncing family are amazing and it was a humbling experience to spend time with them. The compassion and enthusiasm shown by Brolga, opening his home, his sanctuary and his heart, is so special. Learnt so much and getting up close to these amazing creatures, even nursing their abandoned babies, was an honour and a privilege . Unforgettable!
