We had lunch here last week and were so impressed. It is a beautiful walk to get there, and of course the view from the cosy enclosed heated verandah is just beautiful.

Food was so inspired. It was a bit experimental but not too much so. And totally delicious. It is a small but varied menu - perfect for being able to ensure quality control.

Service was friendly helpful but discreet.

A lovely ambience.

Thank Muchos2

It's not often you find such a relaxing place in the centre of the city, but here it is. Views over the gardens, a peaceful environment and good food. Sometimes you need to take time out to chill and eat, well this is the place. Not the cheapest but worth paying that extra to be able to relax and enjoy your lunch.

Having ordered two coffees, amongst other things for a coffee break during my first walk around these beautiful gardens with friends, I was very disappointed to discover that the coffee (lattes) were served cold. I then had to wait a very long time for replacement drinks and was told - wait for it - that I had to specify that I wanted my coffees served hot! Other people were served before me, the girl was severely uncooperative and was complaining all the time. Other people were also queuing for replacement drinks - the whole episode was so time consuming.

Wandering the gardens and found this for lunch. Lovely ambience and service and the meals we had, lamb and gnocchi were delicious as were the shared steamed vegetables. Coffee ended a lovely lunch.

What an oasis. Wandering thru Botanical Gardens after walking the entire length out to Mrs Macquarie's chair and back toward Macquarie St, we cam upon this gem. It was a very warm day and seeing this place was such a relief. Dining inside, upstairs and outside. Btw the restrooms for the Botanic Gardens are right behind the restaurant. Anyway, it was a welcome relief for a cold drink and bite to eat. I don't think one can put it in gourmet category nor would you walk thru the Gardens to find it to eat, but if there even for some Garden functions, it is a great place for a drink and meal. Eating amongst the trees, flowers, gardens and water makes for a relaxing and comforting experience.
