I've eaten here twice and if I didn't live on the other side of the world, it would be a regular haunt. A lovely view from the tables on the veranda, great menu with good portions and priced well. The staff are all very friendly and I'd highly recommend this place.

Lunch at the Botanic Gardens proved to be a delight. We did not book but were found a table with a view of the gardens where we watched the birds clearing items left by diners on the lower level. They managed my dietary restrictions with no problems and a delicious lunch was served along with a beautiful bottle of wine. We relaxed and really enjoyed the meal.

The fare served here is simply delicious. Good sized portions are served and the prices are not excessive. So nice to sit in the gardens to enjoy a meal with ones friends.

Had lunch here today (Easter Sunday). Friendly service in a lovely setting, but the food was average. For entree (starter) I had stuffed zucchini flowers and they were nice. My husband's entree was forgettable - by the time our mains came, we couldn't remember what he had. Mother in law had the beetroot said - which was HUGE and mainly consisted of a very large bowl of shredded lettuce, with a few pieces of beetroot and bacon hiding amongst it, with a poached egg on top. Way too big for an entree. My husband and I had roast lamb for our mains, but unfortunately it was rather chewy, however the Jus was full of flavour. Mother in law had Salmon and she said it was very nice - cooked well. Not a lot to choose from for desert and the huge chips out of the coffee cups were a bit of a surprise and a disappointment. Despite being fairly quiet, we had to ask for our bill three times and it was a bit uncomfortable when the waitress brought the Eftpos machine to our table so we could pay the bill. The first thing she said was - "Push this button to add your tip" - then she stood there - waiting... We had decided not to leave a tip, but felt that there was an expectation that we should. The setting in the Botanic Gardens is lovely, but we would probably choose somewhere else next time.

Only saying that because I believe the chef will be scooped up by a larger restaurant. On a beautiful fall day in Sidney on March 22 we enjoyed the gardens and stopped for lunch here. First of all, the setting is beautiful -- right in the gardens. You sit upstairs that looks like it's inside, but it's open to the outdoors. Just lovely.

Lunch was one of those perfectly simple, but absolutely delicious meals. Order the bread. It was a take on a focaccia -- perfectly scrumptious. My wife had the salmon that came out to the table perfectly cooked. It was joined with a fresh bit of salad. The veal entree (starter in Australia) looked good to me so the wait person said it could be ordered as a main. It was delectably simple as mentioned, but perfectly cooked. Hmmmm. Lastly, although many don't seem to know the delights of panna cotta, but this one is close to perfection. Made with a bit of Bailey's Irish cream.

For lunch in Sydney, don't miss this place.
