The person who seems to own this place is a huge jerk and was extremely rude to me and my group. Extremely rude. I strongly advise against staying here. We walked in at about midnight one night and hardly made a sound. He came out of his room and claimed that we weren't staying there, despite us having our room key. There was a group of five of us and we had two rooms reserved. He came into our elevator to try to stop us from going up and claimed we were all trying to stay in one single room together and not pay full price for two rooms. He made us tell him our names and room numbers so he could confirm we had two rooms. One of my friends came from his room to mine to borrow contact lens solution, and apparently this guy was watching on security cameras and came up to our room and yelled at us, claiming we were squeezing 5 people in one room, which we weren't. This, and the rooms smelling like mold, are why I advise against this place.

Pros:
1) The hotel is at the heart of Kings Cross, within 1 minute walking distance from the Kings Cross Train Station. Hyde park/CBD is within 15 minutes walking distance. Town Hall/Queen Victoria Building is within 30 minutes walking distance. If you use train, you can reach Circular Quay in 10 minutes (Kings Cross to Martin Place by Train, then walk), Town Hall in 10 minutes, Central Station 15 minutes, Paddy’s Market in 20 minutes (Kings Cross to Central Station by Train, then walk), Darling Harbour in 30 minutes (Kings Cross to Town Hall by Train, then Light Rail From Paddy’s Market to Convention Centre) and Bondi Beach in 30 minutes (Kings Cross to Bondi Junction by Train, then Bus 333 to beach).
2) If clubs and pubs are your things, then let me tell you that the hotel is just beside the world famous “Show Girls” club of Kings Cross. Every night at around 11PM, you can meet the shows girls on the street for free.
3) Plenty of Aussie, Italian, Japanese, Indian and Turkish eateries are around.
4) The hotel has a very friendly, watchful and helpful team of staffs.
5) Rooms are moderately sound proof.
6) Every room has a small kitchenette with microwave oven, refrigerator and utensils.
7) Free tea, coffee, milk and toiletries are provided.
8) Free late check-out allowed (on prior request).
9) Kings Cross Tourist Information Center is within 1 minute walking distance.
10) Coles supermarket is within 3 minutes walking distance.
11) Housekeeping is excellent.

Cons:
1) As the hotel is in the red light district, it is not suitable for families with kids.
2) Clubbies and party-goers can be very noisy at night.
3) Rooms are very old and not well-maintained. In my room, none of the bedside lamps were working. Soap rack fell off from the wall while I was taking shower. The cloth rack was rusty and dirty.
4) Safety is another concern in this hotel. Every now and then homeless people try to get in to steal form the guest rooms. In fact, during my 8 nights stay, one break in and one assault happened in my neighboring rooms.
5) The hotel lift is very old and crash lands every time.

How to reach there by public transport:
Take the Airport Link train from Sydney Kingsford Smith International Airport towards City (Around 15mins). Get down at Town Hall Station. From Town Hall Station, take another train towards Bondi Junction. Get down at Kings Cross Station (Cost up to here is AUD 17.50 one way). Take the exit on Darlinghurst Road, turn left and walk to the pedestrian crossing. From the pedestrian crossing, you can see the hotel signboard.

Room tip: This hotel is not suitable for families with kids

This simple hotel is not a terrible experience. However it is more of a stay-to-sleep place for those who want to experience Sydney on a budget.

If you are expecting luxury at the prices you are at the wrong hotel. However, for students and friends this is a great place. You are only a few minutes from some amazing KX bars and clubs.

Room tip: budget friendly

We booked this hotel for the new year period as everything else was so expensive however it's on par with a hostel! We booked a studio room which happened to be on the 3rd floor but when we pulled the curtain back all we could see was a brick wall approximately 18" away from our window. Being a studio room it was tiny with the double bed pushed up in a corner. We only had one wine glass between us, no tv remote and the ice box in the fridge was so iced up it was impossible to use. In a total of 6 nights stay we had to get our electronic room cards reset 4 times. We stayed for 5 nights then paid full price to leave our stuff in our room whilst we went on an overnight excursion before staying for one further night. On returning from our excursion (been away 36 hours) we found our bed hadn't been made although clean towels were on the bed! When my husband asked to book our room for the night we would be away he was told we had to pay full price because of the house keeping but to pay when we checked out however at 9.55 pm on the night we returned there was a bang on the door by a man asking for immediate payment, when I queried the amount as housekeeping hadn't done their job I was told I still had to pay as it was cheap anyway. The bathroom had a lot of mould and the shower bracket was broken. On their website they say there is a roof top sun lounge well this is a concrete area with no furniture. The only plus points are it is very close to the train station, good wifi and they gave us a late check out (noon) at no extra cost.

Room tip: Try one at the front of the hotel

Wow! The price was reasonable and the location is great however the Hotel was horrible. The room had not been cleaned for sometime, there was dust on the tables, the window was broken, the room itself smelt musty and mouldy. there was mould all over the bathroom ceiling and the shower leaked that bad it came out under the door into the room. We had to request a new blanket as the one that was provided had an unknown substance all over it, so wasn't checked when the room was made up. We went to use the microwave and it smelt like a fire had been inside it and had not been cleaned for a very long time! Never again

Room tip: Don't bother
