We booked this hotel for the new year period as everything else was so expensive however it's on par with a hostel! We booked a studio room which happened to be on the 3rd floor but when we pulled the curtain back all we could see was a brick wall approximately 18" away from our window. Being a studio room it was tiny with the double bed pushed up in a corner. We only had one wine glass between us, no tv remote and the ice box in the fridge was so iced up it was impossible to use. In a total of 6 nights stay we had to get our electronic room cards reset 4 times. We stayed for 5 nights then paid full price to leave our stuff in our room whilst we went on an overnight excursion before staying for one further night. On returning from our excursion (been away 36 hours) we found our bed hadn't been made although clean towels were on the bed! When my husband asked to book our room for the night we would be away he was told we had to pay full price because of the house keeping but to pay when we checked out however at 9.55 pm on the night we returned there was a bang on the door by a man asking for immediate payment, when I queried the amount as housekeeping hadn't done their job I was told I still had to pay as it was cheap anyway. The bathroom had a lot of mould and the shower bracket was broken. On their website they say there is a roof top sun lounge well this is a concrete area with no furniture. The only plus points are it is very close to the train station, good wifi and they gave us a late check out (noon) at no extra cost.

Room tip: Try one at the front of the hotel

Wow! The price was reasonable and the location is great however the Hotel was horrible. The room had not been cleaned for sometime, there was dust on the tables, the window was broken, the room itself smelt musty and mouldy. there was mould all over the bathroom ceiling and the shower leaked that bad it came out under the door into the room. We had to request a new blanket as the one that was provided had an unknown substance all over it, so wasn't checked when the room was made up. We went to use the microwave and it smelt like a fire had been inside it and had not been cleaned for a very long time! Never again

Room tip: Don't bother

Clean and tidy. Staff were nice. Room was quite small and the taps in the shower falling off the wall. Elevator is not in good working condition. Okay hotel but wouldn't stay again. Get what you pay for.

We stayed here because, well, frankly, we had limited other choices. Sydney was pretty much booked out the weekend we were here.

After reading some of the reviews on here, I had a moment of regret, but on arrival, we were pleasantly surprised (thank goodness).

We stayed in a suite on level 3 for three persons, which included 1 x QS bed and 1 x Single and found it very comfortable, neat and tidy. The room (and hotel in general) is older, but is very well located close to the action of Kings Cross (if that's your thing) but not so much in the thick of it you can't sleep for the noise.

The hotel has limited facilities (reception is manned some of the time, no restaurant/bar, pool etc) but you're close to lots of options nearby.

Kings Cross station is a 2 minute walk away and there's plenty of cafes within the same 2 minute walking radius that do a mean $6 budget cooked brekkie, or if you're keen to try something a bit special, there are some uber cool little hipster joints down the laneway across the road. If you're there on a Saturday, it's also just a short walk down to the weekly organic markets which are worth a look at with beautiful flowers, local produce/smallgoods and some stellar food stalls.

All in all, we agreed we would be very happy to stay here again - in fact, we think we would prefer to stay here for the local *ahem* "unique" atmosphere, compared to some of the more central CBD hotels we've stayed at.

Room tip: We got a suite on the 3rd floor which was great.

simple and cosy room, bathroom was big, free-wifi was good. it's conveniently near to King Cross Station. no breakfast or in-house cafe, however, there are plenty of food outlets around. Potts Point is a red-light district, but it's definitely safe and the hotel location is not on the main street/area of such activities, hence, it was quiet and not much action. overall, value for money, cosy room, great location
