We stayed at Lido 12th-14th August 2011.We were impressed with the central location, public transport very close by, excellent service upon arrival and a genuine concern for our comfort. We were advised of the possible noise coming from the nightclub below. We simply wore earplugs (supplied by the hotel) and really had a restful sleep. The suggestion in the morning, that we try Uliveto cafe for breakfast (in nearby Bayswater Rd) was welcomed. Quality all round. When we were ready to check out,we were offered a cab.We will certainly stay here again when we next visit Sydney. For value and comfort, service and convenience Lido Suites cannot be beaten

HOTEL FROM HELL - VERY VERY NOISY NO SLEEP ALL NIGHT. We were lied to when we requested quiet rooms to stay in.

In our booking we requested to have quiet rooms with no noise. When we arrived at the Lido Suites we were advised by the front reception that they had kept us 2 rooms that were quiet. If they were the quiet rooms I would like to know what the noisy rooms were like!!!. We did not get any sleep all night. Constant booming music, loud yelling and screaming and abusive and swearing language could be heard all night, and that was with the windows fully closed until about 6am in the morning

We were we told that we had quiet rooms reserved for us... what a lie. I have since found many review websites with plenty of bad reviews re the volume of noise at this establishment.

The hotel when they receive the booking through your website should give the client the courtesy of a call to say that they cannot fulfill that request so that the client can make the choice to book elsewhere. We do not recommend DO NOT STAY HERE

This is the worst hotel we have ever used.Let's start with the noise level. On night 1 we got no sleep. The night club closed at 6am, then the outside entertainment of brawling and foul language started followed by the garbage collection and the multi-pass street sweeper. This hotel has a fundamental problem that neither the widows or the doors fit their openings, so any noise seems like it is in your room. Because the doors don't fit the frames, cell phones in the corridor, loud talking and people returning at at all hours seem like they are in your room.
Upon request, management moved us to a room at the back of the building (#312).This room was 290cm x 386cm, with a table, sink & fridge and queen bed.The space was inadequate. The street noise was reduced, but the bed and room vibrated from the bass until 6 am.Room service is very spotty. Our beds were always made, but some times the bathroom was not cleaned, or the towels not changed. The reception is a hit and miss affair. If no one is there, as is frequently the case, you are given a number to call... but no phone. While there is a separate bathroom with adequate hot water,it is hard to call these 'suites' The kitchen area is equipped with microwave, kettle, dishes and cutlery for 3 and a refrigerator. No toaster or hotplate. We found the elevator was a particular problem. On one of the days it did not work, but management had it fixed in a day. The elevator was very dirty and was not cleaned the 4 days we were there. Also it stops about 10 cm above or below the intended floor, which can be a serious trip hazard.I could go on, but by now, you have the picture. I was embarrassed to take my wife to this hotel.
Just one more point. Management hides behind the the fact that this is a known noisy area. People who book here understand that, but it is management's responsibility to provide satisfactory accommodation, not the client's responsibility to book on nights that will be quiet.

Room Tip: Ugly view of brick wall from back rooms.

Beware of staying here, first of all our trip to Australia was a good overall it was just our experience with lido suites that put a damper on it. 2 pm is check-in time which no one was available to do so till 3pm. Rachelle who supposedly is the manager was nowhere to be found when it came to answering critical questions about checking in, parking, directional info. After talking to the manager who supposedly is rachelle 3 times on the phone and her telling us she is on her way down was not even at the hotel. She contacted the man maid to come down to check us in. Which took him 20 mins cause he's not use to checking people in. Upon finally talking to rachelle again we wanted to cancel our room, she said she would contact us when she returned to the hotel. She never did!!! Another attendant we spoke to said they would refund 1 nights stay. That hasn't happened!!! Just a overall bad experiencer with lido suites and their staff!! I am contacting their parent company Leisure Inn to file an official complaint.

Overall, it was clean, and the staff were nice. The only problem is that they use an overseas company to book, and my booking was never given to the hotel.
The lady working there was nice enough to find 2 rooms as we had requested, but they had just been painted that stay so stunck of paint.
Overall, was nice to stay, just be careful when booking is made.
