The Eternity Playhouse is the treasured home of the Darlinghurst Theatre Company (which used to be where the Hayes Theatre is now). The purpose built conversion in Burton Street Darlinghurst is a wonderful performance space. The seats are comfortable and well priced, sightlines are great and there's a lift to most levels. Over several years, the plays put on by Darlo are wide ranging (a bit of an emphasis on gay topics) and very much above average quality compared to other small theatres. Performers are well chosen, well directed and committed to high quality. Sets are extremely well designed for a small theatre. The Eternity is always great value. The high quality Two Trout restaurant, offering a selection of main meals and snacks from about 6.00 pm is a very welcome recent addition to the bar service.

Whether you attend a show at the newly restored Eternity Playhouse or just drop by for a bite from their snack menu, it's a great place to have a pre-show drink or catch-up with friends. Located near Oxford Street it's a great alternative, with friendly staff.

Stunning Gorgeous Magnificent old church converted to a Theatre.
Attended an Event here and it was AMAZING. I enjoyed the event so much more in this fabulous setting. Great venue choice.
They also have a little café, restaurant, bar in the building.
LOVE IT!!
Congratulations on an outstanding refurbishment..

My favourite style of theatre; small and all seats are close enough to feel part of the emotion of the play. A lovely building that has been well converted into a quality playhouse.
Watched Goodworks by Nick Enright from the front row so I felt part of the story - a very complex story with actors playing multiple roles and in a larger less intimate theatre, the complexities would have led to huge confusion.
In many ways, the choice of plays is more realistic than plays chosen at the STC.

Small playhouse, smartly renovated and with a warm atmosphere. I've seen two plays here which I really enjoyed. The staff are very welcoming. They could do with having a few more snacks at the bar - like a cheese platter - as there are few options available very close by
