Great short stay.

Very comfortable bed and quiet location and within walking distance to eateries (spice alley) and central rail station. Breakfast choice was good and healthy. Staff were helpful and courteous. I would recommend Vulcan Hotel as a place to stay if you want access to Darling Harbour and Sydney CBD.

We stayed 6 nights and found the hotel to be very clean and comfortable with great customer service. Our first time in Sydney and not really knowing where we would be in relation to CBD it turned out to a bit of gem. A short walk to the light rail stop and we'd walk back in the afternoon, about 30 - 40 minutes depending on the number of times we'd stop. Room was fine. We were were on the road side so a little road noise but not a problem. Breakfast was simple, enough to get started for the day. We'd stay there again.

For the price this hotel was extremely disappointing.
Positive: the shower water was hot and a good strength.
The bed linens were fresh.

Negative.
The room was very small and the bathroom even smaller.
Bathroom shower had mold along walls and bottom edges.
One small towel per person.
A dusty closet where we would not hang anything, and the can of bug spray in the closet was concerning.
The “breakfast” consisted of canned fruit, burnt bacon/ham, powder eggs, beans and stale white bread for toast.
Instant coffee!!! If you wanted a real cup it was $5.00 extra for a small.
Absolutely would not recommend.

A very pleasant stay of 6 days at Vulcan Hotel, Sydney. Service is attentive and warm, the room that I stayed in was comfortable. Happy hrs drinks from 5pm to 7pm was wonderful! The hotel is located at a quieter part of the city, walk abt 10 minutes or so via Powerhouse Museum to Haymarket/Market City, 15 minutes or so to Central Station.

such a comfortable hotel, love the bath, great and responsive staff, held my bags before the check in time without incident, freshly made breakfasts and fantastic flat white coffee with a vanilla (extra charge), accessible to all kinds of restaurants along and relatively close to the light rail that expeditiously takes you to downtown sydney… overall, more than pleased

Room tip: great food everywhere
