Not at all what we expected, a knowledgeable guide met us off the Captain Cook ferry and gave a very in depth tour taking approximately an hour. After we visited the restaurant where an attentive, professional gentleman provided an excellent service and a super meal both in preparation and flavour. Everyone was given notice of the cannon going off and if you wished where shown where to exit to enable you to watch or take photo's
This is a real hidden treasure well worth a visit and needs more promotion.

Only need a short stop here unless you do the tour - the only way to go inside the fort. Plenty to read - mini museum. Toilets and restaurant available here. Nice views.

This iconic landmark has stood on this spot for over 200 years, and if only the walls could talk. All of these places are full of history, and makes one wonder just how our ancesters survived the harsh climate of the penal colony. I am an descendant of two of the first fleet convicts and found this site very interesting.

Very recently I took my 88 year old Father back to Fort Denison with family and friends. This was a very special visit for him as he had not been back since staying there as a youngster. My Uncle, his Brother-in-Law was born there, and hence my father having some wonderful memories and tales he wanted to tell. Romaine, our tour guide, was incredibly knowledgeable and very patient with him. She took the time after our tour to sit and listen to his stories. We all left the fort, so much wiser of it's history thanks to Romaine and my father.

What a great location we celebrated our wedding anniversary, to get things started we elected to purchse the sunset dinner not disappointed food was excellent a wide selection, service was friendly and efficient our water taxi arrived and departed right on time a quick blast through the harbour and our night commenced. On arrival we were given a very detailed history tour from our National Parks ranger about interesting fact on Fort Denison.
We were blesssed when one of the Royal Carribean Ocean liners departed Sydney Harbour on its cruise and passed directly by us great experience seeing those massive ships at sea level.

Overall a "must see" for Sydney Siders and tourists great location at reasonable rates
