After reading the reviews, I was really hesitant about staying at this location. Decided to stay for the four nights that I had booked and give it a shot. We were in apartment number 306. We arrived a little after 12:45 and waited for the clerk to return. It was around 5 minutes. He let us check in early. Yes, you do have to check in at their sister property and all of that information is well displayed when you read the policies on the Choice website. There were a number of maintenance issues we reported the next morning and all of them were addressed that day except one, and a part was needed in order to fix that item which was done the next day. The king bed was two twins pushed together and could use replacing. We were offered a queen room but said no. The cleaning staff could be trained better when cleaning the bathroom. A little bathroom cleaner with bleach would clean the mold in the corners of the shower. Note: it is a handicapped room so the bathroom shower is an open area, no shower curtain, no step into the shower, just a tile floor. All appliances worked as required. The view out the balcony was to another building with balconies. It is in walking distance (25 minute walk) to a mall with two grocery stores, a cinema, etc. Note: there is a QE grocery store a block away however it is very expensive. The separate bedroom and living room area was fantastic. The washer/dryer is located in the apartment. The kitchen had dishes, pots, pans, coffee/tea maker, toaster, stove, oven, microwave and refrigerator. There was laundry detergent packets and dishwashing/dishwasher packets. We didn’t swim in the pool. It needs to be shocked, a little on the green side. All in all, it was much better than some of the recent reviews. Yes, the apartment needs a little updating and carpet cleaning, but we would definitely stay again if in Sydney.
