What a brilliant idea to build such a striking building! We took the 1 hour opera tour. They told you about the story behind the construction of the building, how the design was almost passed over except for one judge who decided to go back over the entries, and how they had a hard time making the draft into reality because the designer was ahead of his time. The sails are not really white. However, they told us that you could not take any pictures inside the music theater and then they tried to sell you pictures of yourself with the backdrop of the inside of the Opera House music theater..hmmm. I was happy to know that one died during the construction of the building even though they worked without safety wires. Sydney Harbor wouldn't look the same without the Opera House.
