If you aren't a people watcher you can join in with the buskers or sip a cold beer & watch the water traffic....

“An exhibition and conference centre”
Reviewed 6 April 2012

Walking distance from the CBD with several good restaurants. It is often used as an event station for concerts (on platform boats) or fireworks. On weekends it can be a bit dead if there is nothing special on. On week days it is well used by the CBD workers. It is a light and airy space. Major roads roar above it but beneath there are fountains, restaurants, parks and stores. The star city casino is at one end. They put on fireworks at New Year and Australia day. It was developed in the late 90s prior to the olympics. Prior to that it was not a very nice area. More and more high rises are being built in the area, improving the general quality of the area.

“Western Side needs a refresh”
Reviewed 6 April 2012

The newer part on the east is fabulous, but the shopping centre is really looking old and tired on the western side... The harbour itself is lovely, and a walk across the old Pyrmont bridge is just great

“Plenty to see and do”
Reviewed 6 April 2012

Yes it's a tourist trap, but well worth exploring for the great variety of shops, restaurants and attractions in the area--there's something for everyone, young and old, day and night!
