“Grand lady”
Reviewed 2 March 2012

It is amazing that the cathedral tower spires were added comparatively recently - in 2000 - to give a more finished and sleek look than the previous chunky towers allowed. While not as grand as the great cathedrals of Europe, St Mary's is still a substantial structure and worthy of a visit for anybody interested in major church architecture as it was applied in colonial times.

“Very Pretty Church with fountains”
Reviewed 1 March 2012

We stopped in to see this church. It is a beautiful old church. As someone else said, it is not quite as ornate as the churches in Europe, Notre Dame in Montreal, or St Patricks in New York, but it is beautiful and impressive in its own right. It has high arched ceilings and fountains in front. It is nice to just sit inside in reflective solitute and enjoy the architectiture.
