“Nice rooms, nice service”
Reviewed 13 April 2012

Our first trip to Australia. We stayed there for 6 nights in Feb 2012 on a business trip. The room was great! It is prohibited to smoke in the room, so we were given a one bedroom suite with balcony which is very comfy.
There were also minor problem with the bathroom, but the engineering staff quickly finished it (I consider 15 minutes to be quick).
The only downside is that there were no variation at all for the breakfast. We took the room with breakfast package so it was kinda boring having exactly the same breakfast for 1 week.

Room Tip: Find the rooms with balcony for smokers

We stayed for 4 nights at the start, and 3 nights at the end of our 3 weeks in Australia in Feb/March 2012. We arrived mid-morning after our 24-hour flight from the UK and were delighted that our room was available immediately - no fuss checking in. The staff were immensely friendly and helpful throughout both stays. We left a bag at the hotel for about 2 weeks, and on our return the bag had already been placed in our room prior to our arrival.

The hotel is a few minutes’ walk from Town Hall station with direct trains to the airport, and Circular Quay. It is very close to Darling Harbour, and on the edge of Chinatown with lots of restaurants (also quite a number of Spanish and Thai places to eat). A monorail station is nearby too. The main shopping area around George Street, including the Queen Victoria Building is just a bit further along from Town Hall station.

We had a laptop with us and a real bonus was wired internet access in the room, which was free. There was also free wifi in the café/bar/restaurant area.

We were at the back of the hotel which was quiet. We overlooked the back of apartment blocks – not a great view, but we weren’t expecting one given the hotel’s street location. The room had a kitchenette area, which was a bit redundant as, while there was a hob, there were no pans and you clearly weren’t expected to cook. However, this meant that there was plenty of room to make tea/coffee and also a good-sized fridge which held several bottles of wine (in our case). We also fixed our own breakfast some mornings. The room was clean, the shower-room a good size and modern, and the air-con OK.

Unless you compare it with really top of the range, this was an excellent hotel and we would certainly go back if we ever manage to return to Sydney.

Great location within 5-10 minutes walk of Darling Harbor. For the kids, its only a 5-8 minute walk to an awesome, free, outdoor playground with water area. Loads of good restaurants.

The hotel room was in good condition. Loads of space. Interior was a little bland and the view was poor. Close to the 555 bus which gives you free transport to Circular Quay during their restricted times of operation. Grocery store is only 2 blocks away. But overall, a great place to stay.

We stayed here on my husbands first trip to Sydney. It's proximity to all things that are world renowned is incredible, the service friendly and helpful, food options in the immediate vicinity are countless and the price we paid was outstanding!

We are a family who have lived in KL for 3 years by now and we travel around in the region frequently. This time we ended up in Sydney on the school spring break. It was overall a very good stay. So many things to do and that in combination with good fall weather was a good start. The hotel (Radisson on Liverpool street) was very good. Staff was was friendly and proactive. We had a suite and fixed our own breakfast and ate other meals outside the hotel so we can't comment on the restaurang. The rooms were nothing extra but very practical. The gym and pool was small and basic (both windowless) but served their purpose. The best with the hotel is though the closeness to Darling Harbor - literally a 5 min walk away. On the way there is also a big palyground for kids which was popular. In short - A basic hotel in a very good spot!

Room Tip: Make sure you get one with a small kitchen, very good for breakfast etc. Especially with kids. Also...
