Stunning hotel! Everything about this hotel was fabulous! The breakfast was amazing! Fantastic choice and service. I can recommend the fish night - the whole family enjoyed this evening and was one of the best meals we had in Australia. The kids loved their babychinos in the morning and the swimming pool was perfect for us all at the end of a busy day exploring. Incredibly comfortable beds and lovely toiletries too! I highly recommend this hotel!

Upon arrival at 1.45pm our room wasn't ready yet we were told we were guaranteed 3pm check in. We had booked and paid for harbour views but told we had been "upgraded" from city views to harbour. What?? Our room was finally ready at 4.05pm so not sure what the guarantee really means. Room comfy but quite old fashioned, small swivel TV, old fashioned bathroom and despite our room temp set at minimum of 17 it was hot! In the morning we tried to call room service for a coffee, this was at 8.15am. By 8.45am we were still "in the queue". I rang the hotel from my mobile to complain. The drinks arrived at 9am, 45 mins after we started trying, and yet we still paid for both drinks plus the $8 delivery fee. Whilst staff lovely, are coming back in a few wks but not intending on staying here.

Booked this for a staycation but to be honest I would go elsewhere. The room we got was smelly and musty. The hook on the bathroom door was falling off and the service was just “ok”. Breakfast was chaotic and at check out I was charged the deposit and the room rate.
Plenty of other good choices. Needs a refurb.

We stayed at the Intercon Sydney for part of our honeymoon to Australia and the South Pacific. This hotel is in a superb location in downtown Sydney, centrally located to all major attractions. The gardens and Mrs Macquarie’s Chair to the east, the Opera House directly in front of the hotel, Circular Quay adjacent to the north, and the Rocks district and harbor bridge to the north/west. All places within walking distance. We booked a harbor view king suite and were thrilled with the view and room layout, situated in a prime corner location. This also provided us access to the Intercon Club level, where they had drinks, snacks and often enough for a full meal. The most spectacular 270 degree view from this 32nd floor club, with sweeping views of the entire harbor. The concierge was also extremely helpful with arranging transportation for us as well as a full day tour to the Blue Mountains, which included a sunset harbor cruise, Featherdale wildlife park, Scenic World, etc. I would definitely recommend the Intercon Sydney to anyone visiting for whatever reason!

First of all, this review is late. Sorry.
I love Sydney because of the hotel we chose to stay at. Our room overlooked the Botanical Gardens and Sydney Harbor, on a higher floor. It was quiet, the perfect size for a couple, and was clean. We actually got a bottle of champagne along with some pastries as a welcome (IHG members get special treatment!) We could and did walk everywhere including for a show at the Sydney Opera House. I think I loved Sydney because of the hotel. The staff were friendly, the concierge gave us some brilliant suggestions - which we took. I was in Sydney for the first time in my life, and I hope to return some time soon.
