Had a one night stay here and was happy with my room. Although it was a bit on the small side it had everything I needed for a quick stay. There was an iron , kettle, fridge with mini bar and an in room safe. My room was clean and tidy. The bed was comfortable. The wifi was free. If your after a window view this is not the place for you. There are plenty of places to eat nearby and the train station is just a 5 minute walk away. There is no lift so you take your bags up the stairs.

Stayed for 2 nights before boarding a cruise ship.
The Hotel was booked as part of the cruise package, wish we had done some research, as this is not the place to be !
Firstly the Hotel has no lift ( unbelievable) , as we had heavy bags , and you have to carry the luggage up the stairs.
The room was tiny , and the sealed window looked out onto a brick wall about 2m away , so forget about any daylight.
The Hotel is scruffy , it’s had some form of cheap make over to class it as a boutique Hotel , which just make it look worse as most of the interior is painted black.
You can’t get any food , even breakfast in the Hotel , which is a nuisance ,as you have to go and find somewhere local ,even to get a coffee in the morning.
The Hotel is located in the Kings Cross area of Sydney , which although they said it had now been cleaned up by the authorities, was the red light district. It however still has its fair share of strip clubs and sex shops . Not a very scenic area ,although it did not feel unsafe. The location is about 2 miles out from the city centre , so it’s not within walking distance.
Rooms are tiny and well worn , although most things seemed to work.
On the plus side , the reception staff were really helpful, and did the best they could with a poor product.
Only other good point , was the wi-fi worked O.K.
My advice , spend a bit more and get a better Hotel.

Went to meet overseas relatives on the Australia day weekend. By some miracle i was upgraded to a superior room which was quite large. Bed was super comfy. Bathroom was refurbed shower over bath, difficult to get in and out of. There was one person on the service desk. No lift and no assistance with luggage to your room. Very difficult for my elderly relatives to make it upstairs safely. Their room was no more than a shoe box with hardly enough room to move around the bed. Sheets had stains on them. Certainly not worthy of a 4 star rating. 21/2 to 3 star at best. Certainly doesn't deserve the boutique hotel title. Won't be going back.

Looks great on first glance but upon closer look the rooms were not very well kept and the bed was so worn down that it left me with back-ache for the next two weeks.

The carpet leading to the bathroom was wet throughout our stay and by the looks of it it has been moist/wet for quite some time, as it was bulging. I am guessing there is something wrong with the pipes and they are leaking and no one has bothered to repair them?
We told the concierge but he was unfazed by the comments and just ignored them.

The rooms are small and our view out of the window was of a small patio / roof that was full of trash (empty amenity/ shampoo bottles).

The location however, was really good and we enjoyed the surroundings.

While this hotel did not blow us away, the service that we did receive was friendly and as prompt as a hotel this small could be (They even let us check in 2 hours early). The rooms were decent enough, and for it's location, you can't really beat the price. There weren't a ton of amenities, but at least they had a bar!
