Went to meet overseas relatives on the Australia day weekend. By some miracle i was upgraded to a superior room which was quite large. Bed was super comfy. Bathroom was refurbed shower over bath, difficult to get in and out of. There was one person on the service desk. No lift and no assistance with luggage to your room. Very difficult for my elderly relatives to make it upstairs safely. Their room was no more than a shoe box with hardly enough room to move around the bed. Sheets had stains on them. Certainly not worthy of a 4 star rating. 21/2 to 3 star at best. Certainly doesn't deserve the boutique hotel title. Won't be going back.

Looks great on first glance but upon closer look the rooms were not very well kept and the bed was so worn down that it left me with back-ache for the next two weeks.

The carpet leading to the bathroom was wet throughout our stay and by the looks of it it has been moist/wet for quite some time, as it was bulging. I am guessing there is something wrong with the pipes and they are leaking and no one has bothered to repair them?
We told the concierge but he was unfazed by the comments and just ignored them.

The rooms are small and our view out of the window was of a small patio / roof that was full of trash (empty amenity/ shampoo bottles).

The location however, was really good and we enjoyed the surroundings.

While this hotel did not blow us away, the service that we did receive was friendly and as prompt as a hotel this small could be (They even let us check in 2 hours early). The rooms were decent enough, and for it's location, you can't really beat the price. There weren't a ton of amenities, but at least they had a bar!

Can only be somewhere to sleep as the rooms are small and the view of a brick wall uninspiring. The most depressing thing is no lift! My partner has arthritic knees and my mother has sight and mobility problems. While staff were very willing to lug suitcases up to the top floor for us this was a real problem. Even more able bodied people clearly struggled. Did not suit at all. Only plus for us was the close proximity to the underground.

The rooms are functional and clean. Everything worked I my room. Perhaps the main downside of the hotel is lack of dining facilities - you have to go out for meals - even breakfast. With this in mind could be a bit overpriced. On the plus side - very friendly and helpful at reception.

Room Tip: There is no lift so avoid going above the first floor
