I and my wife stayed in this hotel for 02 nights during 2nd week March 2012. The hotel is located right at Kings-Cross entertainment part of Sydney and very live, crowded area if like.
The hotel clean and the staff was friendly. Check in and out was trouble free.

Room was average size, comfortable somewhat, clean; but due to previous day rain carpets were wet and terribly smelly. No free WiFi.

The room was cost nearly US$ 300 and it was too much; we has no choice.

The Underground train station is right down the hotel, plenty of Restaurants, shopping around; it was very convenient. The Cole supper market is just opposite.

We will return to he hotel only if the rates are competitive.

Room Tip: Ask Upper Floor which will have good view

Pros: Right outside the Kings Cross station and within short walking distance from great night life at Kings Cross/Darlinghurst. Room is large and clean. Mine even had a partial view of the Harbour Bridge from afar.

Cons: Contrary to some other reivews on this hotel, I didn't find that it had any personality whatsoever and the staff at the reception counter were emotionless. It's not a big disappointment, however, as you'd expect such at these mid-range hotel chains.

This is an excellent property for the relatively low price. It's well located in Kings Cross adjacent to the rail station. 5 minute trip into the CBD by train and 15 mins by foot. The rooms are quiet and the area Bohemian if that's what you seek.

Room Tip: All rooms are fine.

My partner and I have stayed at this hotel for 1 night up to a week during 2011. The location is right above the Kings Cross train station, only 10-15 minute walk to the CBD, is handy to all the restaurants and cafes in Potts Point/Kings Cross and Darlinghurst within easy walking distance. There is a personality in this area that the CBD definitely lacks...I know, we used to stay at the Mantra2 Bond St which had very good amenities but lacked any vibe, so we traded this for the many pluses that Potts Point offers.
There is a small good supermarket close by (Harris Farms), plus numerous delicatessens if you don't want to eat out. For our longer stays, we buy salads etc from the deli and the helpful hotel staff provide us with plates, bowls, cutlery etc.
Be sure to join the Rewards program, free, which gives you later checkout, newspapers etc, particularly if you are visiting this hotel or others in the same program.
We quite often made a booking that includes breakfast. The breakfast buffet is much better than most hotels, we can make our own fresh juices, has a wide selection for fresh fruit, muesli and nuts etc, plus hot food (which we cannot comment on because we have never gone beyond the fresh fruit bar).
Be sure to ask for a room as high as possible facing the harbor. If you are there Thurs/Fri/Sat night try and avoid the Victoria St end because Kings Cross is noisy.

Room Tip: Higher floors as possible facing the harbor views. Try and avoid Victoria St end, due to noise on Thurs/Fri/Sat in Kings Cross

Stayed 3 nights on a holiday in Mar'11 and truly loved it. Refreshing with a friendly and casual atmosphere. Rooms are spacious and comfortable. What makes it stand out is its location which couldn't be better, it is adjacent to the Kings Cross Metro station right at the edge of Victoria St which is literally walk out of the station and walk into the hotel. You could be in Darling Harbor in 5 mins, Bondi Beach in 10 to 15 mins and Harbor Bridge and Opera in 10 mins, you name it. Right there in the heart of Sydney's cafe and dining precinct. Night life is a stone's throw distance away at the notorious Kings Cross, although I missed the night out due to a lot of exploring around the city. You could also take a train and visit Blue Mountains. Its a two train ride to Katoomba, quite enjoyed it. Another thing to do would be Taronga Zoo, may be a little expensive but boasts of great views of Sydney, just a boat ride from the harbor. Hotel staff were just terrific, always there to help. Although it is not a upscale hotel but whatever it offers is top notch. Breakfast was just great, just the right thing to kick start your day, the quality was phenomenal and spread quite decent, all that you need. One of the best vegetable omelette I'd always remember.
