Had a nice stay, perfect location for sightseeing. Room was clean, comfortable and the breakfast was very good. We made use of the happy hour in the bar and after, shame it shuts at 8pm with the coffee machine turned off at 7.30pm.
We found all the staff efficient and friendly and would stay here again.
Do not use the official taxi rank at Sydney airport to get to the hotel, we were charged $125, the return just $48 using a local cab booked through the hotel.

My deep disappointment with my recent stay at the Rydges Sydney Harbour Hotel, which was booked using loyalty points. My experience was far from Satisfying.

First and foremost, the state of the room left much to be desired. The towels provided had noticeable holes, and the bathroom was both dirty and exhibited moldy patches, which raised significant hygiene concerns. The floor carpets were clearly in need of cleaning, and the windows in the room were so dirty that it obstructed our view of the harbour Furthermore, the flaky paint on the bathroom ceiling was not only unsightly but also hinted at a lack of attention to maintenance.

Additionally, the water pressure in the bathroom was exceptionally low, making basic tasks like showering and washing hands an unpleasant and time-consuming ordeal. This was particularly frustrating as one expects basic amenities to be functioning correctly in a hotel of your caliber. Not to mention as the room was booked with points it made my family feel as they were not an appreciated customer, but were tossed aside as we presented as a zero value.

To compound these issues, the breakfast provided also payed with via points fell well below the standard I expected from Rydges. The quality of the food and service was disappointing, especially considering the reputation of your brand.

What was particularly disheartening was the treatment my loyalty status seemed to warrant. I expected to be accorded a certain level of care and attention as a loyal customer, but instead, I felt neglected and unheard during my stay.

I understand that hotels may experience occasional challenges, but the combination of these issues left me deeply dissatisfied with my stay at Rydges Sydney Harbour Hotel. This hotel is well past its use by date in desperate need of a complete refit. While the location is ideal, a hotels location alone cannot command $350 AU a night for the most basic room when the standard of the accomodation are so low.

There are far better hotel in the same location for the same price do yourself the favor and avoid this hotel at all cost.

Room tip: Stay in a different hotel, Don't waster your money

Great location, comfortable and clean room. Staff was very helpful and always had a smile. This hotel is located right by Sydney Harbor so it's easy to take a ferry anywhere you want to go. It's walking distance to the Sydney Opera house. Just a great place to stay.

We booked direct and then followed up with a phone call to be assured we'd have an accessible shower facility. During neither phone call or booking confirmation, were we advised of limited facilities. We chose this venue because of location to the cruise terminal as I was recovering from a recent knee replacement . A 5 star venue wasn't important for us it was purely location and convenience.
We arrived in a taxi around 6 pm Sunday evening the night of the Women's World Football Cup Final. Whilst my partner was dealing with the check in I stood back and looked around noting dim lighting, no porters, receptionists not immaculately presented as one expects, nor were they very friendly. When given our keys we enquired for directions to the restaurant and found as it was Sunday evening, the bar and restaurant was closed and therefore no room service either!!
Upon taking the lift to our room we noted scruffy carpets and the less than clean presentation of the lifts and how 'dead' the venue appeared.
The room itself presented well and was very clean but didn't have the accessible shower as expected and confirmed would be, by phone.

Reception advised there was only 2 accessible showers in the building and neither was available and they could not assist us. After we queried the assurance we'd been given, we asked to be refunded and proceeded to find an alternative option.

Whilst doing so, we were amazed the price we had been charged and prepaid, was 65% MORE than what was on offer online through booking platforms. As I am writing this now TripAdisor's rates that appeared on the screen, re-confirms I'm not exaggerating.

We found a true 5 star hotel $100 cheaper very close by, took our refund and the night ended well.

How can your venue retain a 5 star rating when you don't offer a drink or meal of any kind on a Sunday or Monday, is beyond me. I've read other reviews that echo much of our experience.

The suggestion this is an old hotel in a heritage precint doesn't justify charge 5 star prices without providing 5 star service and facilities. Could not recommend.

We were here for a rcl cruise, the hotel was the perfect spot, walk to the cruise port. Rooms were clean and let us use umbrella to go explore. Hote has lots around it including eat, shops of all kinds and a short walk around the harbour you are at the opera house. happy hour each night if you wanted, restaurant on site. held are bags as are flight arrived early and rooms not ready it was only like 9 am, the pool deck on the rood was great and great place to take photos
