We stayed for 6 nights in May 2017. A very pleasant welcome at reception, with some 2 for 1 drinks and meal vouchers. Lovely warm pool on the roof (view of bridge) of the building with good views of the opera house. Excellent breakfast buffet on offer, with an egg chef. Well located in the rocks with a selection of good bars and restaurants very nearby. Recommended

Our two nights at the Rocks were spent in Sydney's top location. The room was clean and modern. The staff was polite and helpful. The breakfast buffet was delicious. The location is good for shopping with good choices of restaurants and night spots. It is just steps from the Opera House and Sydney Harbour Bridge. The rooftop pool affords the best view of both.

Room tip: Our room was on the 5th floor and very quiet.

Two nights for business nearby. Staff at reception, bar and room service were all very friendly!
The bed was super-comfortable, a work desk and refrigerator available.
The bathroom has been refreshed but could use a complete renovation. Having said that, it was clean, ample hot water to fill the bath.
A two for one voucher was used to enjoy two cocktails on my second evening in front of the fire in the bar area.
I used room service on both evenings - the first was Chimchurri chicken with vegetables. The second evening I had the mushrooms with garlic and Parmesan, followed by sirloin steak - cooked perfectly to my request.
Wouldn't hesitate to stay here again!

So this is a holiday inn - you know what to expect - comfortable bed; basic furnishings; functional bathroom but I didn't expect huge room with a view of cruise ships and a glimpse of harbour. Very touristy and public areas a bit grim, I had room service one night and food pretty poor, but friendly helpful reception staff and the location is great - early morning walks around harbour, close to cbd for business, taxi rank outside, wonderful botanic gardens close by, loads of cafes and if you have to go further afield transport hub of circular quay on your doorstep. Not romantic or exceptional but just fine, safe, comfortable and brilliant location. BTW pool on roof very grotty and I didn't see anyone in it whole time I was there. But great place to stay as a base for business or holiday Sydney.
