Booked for a birthday dinner for the 2/12/23, THEY cancelled our booking and we were rebooked to 16/12/23. On the 15/12/23 still no tickets, I eventually spoke to James Karp, "sorry we are overbooked", I was so disappointed by then I requested a refund, was told they would transfer money back to us.
Now 11/1/24 despite texts, phone calls and an email no refund forthcoming.
Now escalated to fair trading, ACCC and probably small debt summons.
Be wary of booking !

An absolute scam that needs to be shut down. Went to the ‘Secrets of Magic’ tour that boasts it is an ‘immersive’ experience through a museum with interactive exhibits with a magician, and that we ‘shouldn’t forget to take photos with his props and furry assistants’. We literally stood in a small room, that was actually a restaurant, with a tiny dirty stage and weren’t allowed to sit down while he rambled on with stories completely inappropriate for the children, while running through a few basic magic tricks using a few cards, a couple of second hand books, an old glass and an orange. We were also told about the bullies that wrote bad reviews on websites about his tour and shows. I rarely write reviews, but feel really taken advantage of with the completely misrepresented advertising and that my kids were exposed to such stories and poor experience. Perhaps he should listen to the reviews and consider that he is taking advantage of his customers and being fraudulent. If this place isn’t shut down soon someone isn’t doing their job properly. I’ve left feeling really startled that these sorts of places and experiences exist without proper regulation. Read the other 1 star reviews on here as well as the google reviews before booking. STAY AWAY is my advice.

My husband booked us these tickets for our Wedding Anniversary. We got to Sydney and just hours before the shiw, they rang and cancelled with some lame excuse about the war. Its now one month on, and we are still waiting for a refund. We have rang and asked several times, and keep getting put off. The cancellation on the night was dodgy, and now we cant get a refund.

This was the absolute worst experience. Over priced by at least $120 a ticket.

No care was given to my celiac partner despite emailing dietary requirements well in advance.

Service was terrible with my partner being asked twice if she was done with her main whilst still clearly eating.

The food itself was very basic with not much flavour. And was served and cleaned away before the show making it more of a dinner then a show rather than and a show.

The “magician” performed tricks that would be unimpressive at a child’s birthday party and had no stage energy whatsoever.

The dancers tried hard but were struggling with costumes failing and an already underwhelmed audience.

During an inexplicable intermission half of the already small audience were on their phones and I don’t blame them.

Also they turned the lights off while people were using the bathrooms leaving them in pitch black darkness.

My partner asked if this was a joke performance like faulty towers or the goes wrong show. Alas no it was just terrible.

Do not be mislead by the alarming amount of 5 star reviews (remember reviews can be AI generated these days and is definitely the case) do yourself a favour and read the 1 star reviews before wasting a cent and 3 hours of your life.
The false advertising of a grand event the website boasts alone is worth legal action.

"Please wait to be seated" as we did, outside confused in the rain for 10 minutes before being let in. Straight to the underwhelming bar with a bartender who looked like his dog had just died and was to shy to speak. We ordered a bottle of wine with the manager. 'we are out of that rose'. Ok fair 'we will have your replacement if it's a dry rose'. It wasn't! It was the Barton and Gustier $6 at your nearest Liquorland.

As a Celiac, My partner had sent 2 emails to ensure my dietary requirements were met (with no response), my meal came out with a crusty Coles baguette slice on top contaminating the dish. A new one was served but this suggests the lack of care taken in the kitchen. I've had better food in a hospital bed.
Twice the young server came over and said "are you finished?" Both times I had a full fork midway to my mouth.
We were anticipating a dinner show but that's not the case. Instead 90 minutes is given for dinner with music being played through dodgy acoustics. 'may we have some table water?' 'oh get that yourself at the bar'.
By this time the whole crowd were looking around at each other very confused.

Anticipating the show had to soon start I went to the bathroom....in pitch black!! It was time for a chat to the manager. 'im sorry but am I actually at some kind of joke performance?' I asked with all seriousness. Apparently all lights get switched off and using the bathroom is NOT allowed during the show.

As 3 dancers began their cancan we could tell we were in for a very underwhelming experience. With dirty, ripped spotlight costumes and all out of sync, I was already embarrassed for them.

Next was the grubby, unkempt 'magician'. A complete bore with tricks purchased in the children's aisle at big W.

Between each act a good 5 minutes of silence occured. One lady in the audience exclaimed 'well cheers everyone ' we were clearly all on the same page.

I really could go on but you get the gist. At the end the magician introduced the dancers. He got 2 of their names wrong. Have these guys even met?

We decided to stay and stick it out as at least we would leave with the memory of the worst night ever and will continue to have a good laugh about it the rest of our lives.

It really was appalling. Please go and enjoy a real performance somewhere else in beautiful Sydney and have no regrets.

This is a factual recount of the evening to try and help every future potential patron have a proper quality night out.
