A great hotel, and close to Parliament House. I would have rated it higher if not for the noise and early start of the current renovations. Hannah on the front desk was most engaging, nothing was too much trouble.

Dear nickV1736GN,

Hello and thank you for your kind review. Our lobby and conference facilities renovation is underway and soon it will be completed. Thank you for your patience as we embark on this journey of transforming our public spaces for all of our guests to enjoy. I am glad that despite the renovation works, that Hannah, one of our key players was able to assist you with what you need to minimize the impact of the works during your stay.

The team and I anticipate your return to Hotel Realm and I can assure you that once the works are completed, you'll be equally impressed with our service as well as our products.

Best regards,
Carlos

Comfortable, clean hotel and room. Great tablet option for ordering for the room and good tv & movies. Room service was prompt and delicious and those staff lovely. Otherwise, service was really terrible. When I checked in, the man I spoke to was flat out rude when I asked if they could charge my own card. I had people barging into my room several times - once a doctor to say they needed to disinfect the sheets (!?) another time someone was walking into the room as I got out of the shower. There was also significant renovations on - so lots of drilling and noisy workmen. I wish I had been told of this as I would have booked elsewhere ( I guess that's why they didn't!). Plenty of other options by same hotel group so wish I had stayed elsewhere.

Dear lauranewstead,

Thank you for your generous feedback. Yes, the hotel is currently undergoing refurbishment and I sincerely apologize if the works have disrupted you during your stay. We were meant to advise all of our guests about the works as a courtesy prior to arrival however, this hasn't happened. With regards to the service issues you encountered, thank you for your feedback. We shall use this feedback to work on what you have enumerated. It saddens me that we were not able to meet your expectations and for this I am truly sorry. I shall contact you to discuss your experience with you personally. What you have experienced is not what we would like for you to have. Once again, please accept our sincere apologies.

Sincerely,
Carlos

We had booked a stay at the little national, but a room was unavailable so we were upgraded to this '5star' hotel. Rooms are uselessly big, carpet & furniture is old & worn down. Beds not comfortable. Do you really need 2 X TV's in a hotel room? Service was average. Definitely not 5 stars.

Dear annon77777,

Thank you for your feedback. It is quite disappointing to hear that you were not able to enjoy our luxurious and well appointed Realm Suites. With it's spacious living room, kitchenette, balcony, a full sized ensuite and lounge areas (any yes, with two televisions), our Suites are the hotel's best selling room types. I am sorry that the hotel and the facilities wasn't to your specification but I hope we could have the chance to welcome you again on your next trip to the capital.

Best regards,
Carlos

How rude! Paying (and most often as is the case......OVERCHARGING) to sleep the night away......to be awoken at 6.30am by construction INSIDE the building. With council rules setting 7am as the ‘civil’ hour to wake the neighbours, The Realm management has set building hours to get their Reno done with no care for their clients.....bad business choice Realm.

Either shut the business down while u do your reno, or have construction start at a reasonable hour.

It perhaps wouldn’t have been so bad if I’d slept alright the night before, but I heard every noise, bump, argument the people in room made as well.....

The Realm has never been one of my top 3 choices in Canberra, but never again. There are plenty more hotels in Canberra who overcharge, but importantly at least they respect their clients.

On a positive note...Your chicken curry still rocks.

Thank you for taking the time to review your recent stay at Hotel Realm, Peta S.

I'm incredibly disappointed to hear about your experience with us. I completely agree that 6:30AM is an uncivilised time to begin noisy renovation work and I cannot apologise enough for this. It is our goal to provide all our guests with a comfortable night’s rest and this was obviously interrupted by the noise you experienced and I completely understand your frustration. There is no excuse for this disruption and 6:30 is definitely not the time that the scheduled works were meant to start.

We would like to regain your confidence with our products and services and I would appreciate the opportunity to speak with you directly.

Please feel free to contact me directly on hannahkrippner@domahotels.com

Best wishes,

Nice try, but for the price, it was average. The fine dining restaurant is not great, I would recommend the casual restaurant it’s cheaper and not trying to be something it is not. The room was nice but little things like making sure at least one of the tv remotes work would be good, luckily I carry spare batteries. Wait until the renovations are complete and it might improve a bit it seems they are not handling them well.
