They don't even have to try...the hotel is brand new and the quality of the rooms are second to none. We have never been interrupted by other guests during our stay and the kids love the Lolly bar, bikes and magazine stand.

Well where do we start?
My wife and I arrived late Thursday evening 13 October after a long flight from Perth. The reception staff greeted us very warmly despite the time (late evening). Rather than retire to our room we decided to adjourn to Joe's bar for a night cap.
The wonderfully bubbly staff member- Nichola- served us even though it was "after bar closing hours". How rare for a staff member to work beyond "ordinary " hours to meet and greet and serve visitors from interstate. Unions take note!!!!
The evening was an entrée to a wonderful 4 night stay.
Breakfast each morning was always at Muse bookshop come Restaurant on the ground floor of the Hotel. When was the last time you enjoyed fresh (real) bacon with beautifully prepared eggs and roasted tomato. Sensational!
The Hotel is located in Kingston which allowed us a 40 minute walk to highlights like the Kingston foreshore and restaurant strip on Lake Burley Griffin; The Parliament precinct including the Houses (Old and New); High Court; Portrait Gallery; and National Art Gallery. One evening we walked (5 minutes) to the Manuka shopping area and enjoyed the delights of one of the local Indian restaurants ( a separate review beckons).
And whenever we arrived late in the evening after dinner or a show at Canberra Theatre, Nichola and the front bar of the Hotel were always there to warmly welcome us.
The rooms were spacious and included stove and microwave should you wish to eat in. The bathrooms were modern and spacious. Our daughter who was also resident in the Hotel for a number of weeks spoke very highly of Joes bar for evening meals.

Stay at East Hotel.Enjoy the restaurants and bars in or out of the Hotel. The options to eat are vast. Spend time at the Muse Bookshop which sells the very latest in releases.

Oh and enjoy that nightcap in Joes bar and the wonderfully warm and friendly service of Nichola and her colleagues.

Room tip: All rooms have separate Bathrooms . Some rooms are actually Suites which separate the bedroom from the Lounge area.

Neat, tidy, great service, quality food (+decent coffee) and facilities! Staff were very helpful. Brekky was served quickly. Quaint little bookshop onsite to poke about it. complementary computers with internet and lolly jar and beverages are a great touch downstairs.

Stayed in one of their luxe fully self-contained apartments. It was clean and surprisingly little roadside noise if the windows were shut. Muse restaurant and Joe's bar on the ground floor were a nice addition. Staff were helpful and we took advantage of their free bike offers. The bikes were probably needing a service at this stage.
The location was good and was only around 1 km to the lake foreshore and around 500 m in a couple of different directions to nearby restaurants

Love to stay in this hotel. Rooms are all clean n nice. The staff really helpful with our inquiries and provides toys as we came with 3 children. Nice breakfast at the restaurant...the ambience so great ...there is free computer for visitor n free hire bicycles but unfortunately we not get to try exploring with bicycle. Overall very recommended and will definitely be back there if go to canberra.
