Easter 3 night stay with car club

4.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 5 Apr 2024via mobile
We stayed over the Easter weekend with our car club for an event. Booked an Atrium hotel room & we stayed in the summer suite which was spacious & comfortable. I booked the couples package so we had daily breakfast included which was good & you could order your eggs cooked to order. We also had dinner one night in the Atrium Restaurant & whilst the food was good (I recommend the lamb curry & choc fondant) the service was very slow & unattentive. We had nightly drinks at the bar & I enjoyed the margarita cocktails, would have been better if they had cocktail specials on their weekday happy hour. Staff on the front desk/reception were friendly & helpful. Enjoyed our stay & would return if I was visiting the area again.

Middling hotel with potential, but some rooms are very tired. And we stayed in one of them. Beware the un-renovated rooms on the ground floor (perhaps elsewhere as well). Very tired -- despite lots of streaming service buttons on the remote, none of them worked. A trip back into the 1970s/80s, with offering of stale packages of instant coffee. General drabness of the room. Other rooms in this hotel have been renovated: why not go the whole hog? Another problem -- the so-called safe parking (admittedly free, for which thanks) which was supposed to be accessible only to those with a room key, was completely open to anyone the entire weekend we were there. On the plus side -- pretty comfortable bed; nice staff at reception and in the dining room and bar. Come on Pavillion at Northbourne, lift your game!

Room tip: Avoid ground-floor rooms.

A little disappointed in the room. Tv very old and no Netflix. No toilet brush in toilet, and no bin in bathroom. BUT. The staff were really friendly and helpful. I would particularly like to comment on Phun from reception. He was outstanding !! His patience, his friendly manner, his understanding and his practical help was awesome. !, I would return to pavilion again, despite my disappointment in the accommodation, simply on his welcome and help. He is a great asset to your staff team. Thank you Phun, and thank you Pavillion for making my visit to Canberra for my nephew’s funeral , and to spend time with his mother, my sister, in her grief, as pleasant as possible. Jan Permezel

On first look this hotel is beautiful with its plant filled court yard. The free on-site parking is a bonus.

Upon checking in I visited the “gym”. It is a small widow less room with a couple of machines. Now, this may not matter to you, but they put it in to tick a box and it is the worst hotel gym I have seen. I purposefully selected for gym to exercise after the drive to Canberra.

Went to the pool instead which is fine.

Booked a balcony room. Balcony hasn’t seen a clean in a long time. Absolutely filthy.

The noise. The A/C varies between pumping freezing and hot air and cannot be turned off. It’s a real bother if you like quiet sleep. Yes, I did bring ear plugs.

Otherwise the room is nice and spacious. Bathroom is good. Shower great actually.

Breakfast was atrocious. You have to pre-book the nicht before to get $5 off the full price of $29; Coffee not included. Well, there’s a pump coffee thingy with questionable brown liquid in it, which was empty and needed refilling. Otherwise pay for your barista coffee extra!

Coffee station was dirty with loads of empty cups , probably from people who had tried to get coffee before me.

Would not recommend.

Room tip: Good parking Easily check in Avoid breakfast Don’t go if a gym is a must have for you.

Excellent service and a nice clean room complete with bath tub. I forgot a personal item when checking out but it was recovered by room service and saved for pickup. The reception staff were very friendly. We will certainly recommend and stay at the Pavilion again.

She was very welcoming and friendly
So thank you for being a part of some special memories with my dad ☺️💕

Room tip: Had some issues trying to book online and dad had to call direct , but chap on reception helped us out as we wanted to stay that night
