The Crowne Plaza is Hotel is an older style hotel within Canberra's CBD, giving you access to heart of Canberra. The staff are fantastic and rooms clean and tidy. The size of the rooms are generous and fairly well laid out. Underground parking makes life easier as the local parking situation is limited.
The best part of my stay here was the proximity, although if you're traveling in Canberra, you're still going to need a car to get to the tourist sites due to the space between them.
Overall, a lovely hotel, made better with the fantastic staff.

We choose the crowne plaza for its great location to the city, theatre and surrounds. The main reason for our stay was seeing mama mia at the Canberra theatre, which was a pleasant five minute walk from crowne plaza.Booked our accommodation quite late so the rate was quite high, but there was a lot of things in Canberra that weekend and it was a Saturday night at short notice. We got upgraded to a larger king room overlooking glebe park, which was a nice outlook.Usually rates aren't so dear.Rooms are clean and comfy, although not huge.Red salt restaurant located in the hotel was awesome, had the best dinner of duck, hubby had a steak and we shared an orange pannacotta.YUMMO!!.Would definitely stay here again.Staff are really pleasant and helpful.Good idea to get the buffet breakfast in your deal.Chilled out and took our time, didnt have to book out until 11am.

Room tip: take advantage of the undergroud parking,so easy just to walk everywhere.

After a 2 week, 4000 km road trip between Sydney and Adelaide it was good to have our last night in this comfortable hotel. great bed, and my wife appreciated the bath. We added the buffet breakfast to the room rate and it was well worth it. Omeletes to order, complimentary barista coffee, pancake maker and good hot food ingredients that the chef didn't ruin by adding herbs. Well done crown Plaza. Parking was in the adjacent Conference Centre and the slight inconvenience was offset by being able to leve the car there all day. One niggle - there is opaque screening to the fifth floor lobby - what is that about? I would have loved to be able to look out into the atrium.

We stayed here during the school holidays because there was a Family special. The hotel is clearly aimed more at the business crowd, but managed us and all the other families very well. Apparently, there was a special play room set up for children, but we were so busy that we never made it there!

The hotel is right next to a gorgeous park, complete with lovely playground - so that is where we spent all our spare time.

The hotel was VERY busy. We did not like our room and wanted an upgrade - the hotel accomodated us as soon as they could. Our rooms were never cleaned on time so, when we checked out, the upgrade was given to us on the house.

As a result, we were very impressed and we would be happy to return in the future.

Similarly, all the staff that we dealt with were polite and helpful. My husband has mobility limitations and special needs, and the staff were helpful in that respect too.

Stayed at the Crown for three nights. It was pleasant although my room looked directly into an office block. If you want to shop in Canberra, it is located opposite the City shopping precinct (note much, much smaller than other capital cities).
The Hotel was comfortable and had everything you needed - it just wasn't anything outstanding, just your usual run of the mill hotel.
Good points - clean, bed was comfortable, location central
Bad Points - room service choices are on the high side and then you get a delivery charge as well (pet hate). Wine selection dull - better to go to the bar and order better wine, which they do have by the glass.
Good for conference - facilities and service were perfect
All in all - absolutely fine but just a little on the dull side.

Room tip: Ask for a room that where you don't wave at the office workers across the road
