Whether you drive or walk (many do) to the top, the view always delivers. It gives you the classic perspective to understand the technical design of Canberra, as it is a defining landmark of the Parliamentary Triangle and the view down ANZAC parade is outstanding.
But plenty of other angles tell different stories. If you are in Canberra and want a view, don't miss this one.

I always take people visiting Canberra for the first time up here, it gives a great view of town especially all the important spots.
Also great for a run up and down, so many different tracks and difficulties available.

The atmosphere is fresher up here, it's worth the drive. Although it's not much to see, you can go trekking to the top or walk around the area. I've been here several times.

Mt Ainslie is a short car trip to the top and worth the effort to get there. Park up, hop out and have a look around you'll be pleasantly surprised.
