We drove by starving in the off-season, and found this gem open for lunch. The 13 Euro menu was outstanding. Two large portions of pate, a beef and main of sanglier were ordered. First time I've eaten sanglier, it was delicious. Some of the best meat I've had in these parts. The cheese plate was substantial as well. No english spoken. Great location. Recommended.
I really enjoyed staying here, it is set in an incredibly beautiful location which is only a short drive (30 mins) to Morzine. Other ski areas in Les Portes Du Soleil are even closer, so if you are driving, it's ideal!
I found the staff to be excellent and friendly, although no English is spoken! However, I don't speak any French and I didn't find it a problem, they are very patient! It also forced me to improve my knowledge of French :)
Rooms are nice and comfortable and clean, and there is free wi-fi as well. Additionally, the food is home cooked and is absolutely delicious!
As I said at the beginning of this review, I really enjoyed staying here and I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a reasonably priced hotel not too far from the ski lifts (or bike trails if you are visiting during the summer). Add to that the fact that Les Portes Du Soleil is an incredibly large area, encompassing 12 (I think?) ski areas and hundreds of kilometres of piste; and you have a perfect and enjoyable trip in the making.
Would definitely stay here again, and indeed plan to at some point in the future.
Small cosy hotel with a very friendly (only French speaking) hostess. Both breakfast and diner were excellent and extemely good value for money. Rooms are small, but good especially at this price point. Well recommended
