My family and I (2 adults and two children) were really lucky to be the first guests to stay at Dower House Cottage in May. The village is really pretty and the house is lovely. The downstairs is like stepping back in time and the sitting room is comfy and cosy. The kitchen is easy to use with everything you want including extras like outdoor tableware and glasses - there's even a cocktail shaker set! The private patio at the back is great for breakfast in the morning and drinks in the evening, or you can use the shared garden with it's enormous sun terrace and lounges. Beds are great, duck down duvets and pillows and plenty of room for our stuff. Two local pubs within walking distance that do food and loads of restaurants in Newark too. Melanie was really helpful - right there when we arrived to walk us through the house and show us how it all worked and to talk about local things to do and events in the area. The welcome pack was also great after driving down from Leeds, afternoon snacks and a bottle of Prosecco! We will definitely be back next summer as we want to try swimming in the Beck.
