“Gorgeous cottage and wonderful, friendly service”
Reviewed 22 October 2013 for a stay in October 2013

I stayed at this lovely cottage for two nights with my husband and our baby. The service we received from Manoelle was superb, even though she was away at the time! Her responses to my initial queries were prompt, friendly and VERY thorough. The cottage was lovely and in excellent condition with everything we needed for a comfortable stay - from cooking utensils, to a bottle opener and even a baby cot! We were very touched at Manoelle's thoughfulness in putting the heating on for us on our first night as she was concerned the baby might be cold. It was a shame we had so much other stuff on during our stay - this would be a lovely spot to just sit and relax for a few days. I would definitely recommend this place to friends.

“Location, property, service - top grades in all categories!”
Reviewed 2 August 2013 for a stay in July 2013

Everything about this place was truly wonderful:
The location is peaceful yet within comfortable distance to lots of interesting places, and the owner offered great tips for trips.
The property is among the most beautiful we have seen in both Umbria and Tuscany - beautiful and peaceful pool and garden.
The apartment we stayed in was extraordinarily clean, functional and welcoming and the service was truly magnificent: The owner - Manoelle - really goes out of her way to ensure a comfortable stay and both we and our kids felt truly welcome. Everything was in splendid working order from dish washing machine to wi-fi coverage (which cannot always be taken for granted..).

Highly recommended.

“A treat in the heart of Umbria”
Reviewed 5 July 2013 for a stay in June 2013

Things that we loved:
•The location in Umbria – very quiet and tucked away. Great for active kids! The lightning bugs kept them busy at night!

•The property is large, has many beautiful garden areas and yards for kids to play, outdoor porches, patios and seating areas, a wonderful swimming pool

•The owner, Manuelle and her welcoming smile, was very gracious. She sat down with us and provided wonderful recommendations on sites to see and for incredible places to eat.

•The apartment we had was very spacious and had a full kitchen, two bedrooms, nice bathroom, dining area and sitting area – along with all the space outside.

Overall, this place was just perfect. I'm hesitant to post a review because I don't want it to become a popular place! We are definitely going to return again and might even stay longer. 5 Stars!!

“TRULY MAGICAL! Not just an enchanting place but so much more..”
Reviewed 18 January 2013 for a stay in October 2012

My family and I spent an unforgettable time at the Tenuta Sospesa. It’s not just an enchanting place to spend your holidays but so much more….

The name of the place, which means "floating villa", explains perfectly the atmosphere which really does seem to float; allowing you to switch off from everyday reality; to feel lighter and in tune with the natural rhythms. It is a place charged with positive energy, where every detail is cared for. At the heart of the grounds is an enormous Mulberry tree that is illuminated by a thousand fireflies in the evening- truly magical.

Every morning, we found little treats at our door, as welcome as they were unexpected. They were little gifts to help us sample what the proprietor calls “the little pleasures of life”: a little bag of coffee for breakfast; herbs from the garden, blowing bubbles for the children; a hammock for my siesta; a drop of truffle oil for our dinner.

Here and there, on a bench, pinned to a tree or on the bedside table are sayings or little stories to make you dream. I copied a couple into my journal:

“Here the light is the light of summertime, of all summers put together”
“The journey is inside you, and it starts when you stop!”
“Stretched in a hammock, in this timeless time, feel it and breathe it in. This is holiday, a bubble of eternity before a quick snooze”

Another thing that we really loved, (especially the children), was that we were free to roam in the orchard and to pick fruit straight from the tree. The fruit garden has apricots, grapes, apples, pears, figs and hard to come by mulberries. What a treat!
I’ve rarely found a place looked after with as much thoughtfulness.
A word of advice: it’s worth visiting not only in summer but in Spring and Autumn too. The weather wasn’t too hot but was sunny all the time, the temperature was idyllic. We stayed there in spring but also a long weekend at the end of October and the countryside was splendid, a mixture of green, red, orange and yellow! Marvelous.
