Booked late so had to swap rooms for sat night which the staff did with no fuss. Both rooms where good but the bath room in room 12 was hugh. We agree with other reviews, it was the detail that made the stay. We were concerned when we arrived that we were close to a road , but could not hear it in the rooms. The Staff were helpful, the free fruit and sweets in reception were a nice touch. Not a moan but could do with instant coffee sachets as to make a pot of coffee felt wasteful. We ate in the pub both nights and had a good meal both nights, book a table early as it is a busy pub but staff fitted us in. Breakfeast was good. We would stay again .

Room Tip: Room 12 brilliant and big enough two relaxing chairs, and roll over bath and walk in shower. Room 11...

The Pilgrim Inn is two thatched buildings one with the boutique rooms , the other the pub and restaurant. This means at closing time you are not disturbed by the locals on their way home. My wife and I stayed for one night and had a meal in the evening. The food was of an exceptionally high standard particularly the pavlova. It has a nice family atmosphere with friendly staff and a personal touch when being shown to your room. You really feel as if you mean something to them and not just another guest.

I have stayed 2 nights in this hotel while on business in the area. Paid 110 GBP/night incl breakfast. What a fine place to stay. The room was very large, got room no. 11. Attention is paid to every detail, which even some 5 star hotels dont have. Very nice and high quality anemities provides for the bathroom, even a bath salt if one wants to take one. Wifi worked perfectly fine. The check is done at the adjacant pub called also Pilgrim inn. No issues at the check in, staff is very polite. If one wants to eat something, the pub right next doos which belongs to Pilgrim Inn has excellent food and drinks on offer from local produce. If I am in the area, i will choose the place again without any hesitation.

My wife and I stayed for a single night in March 2012 to visit family who had recently moved to the area. Good reviews on TA and being a brewery run pub/B&B was also what swung it for me.

We were given Room 4 which is the ground floor room to the left of the entrance to the separate accommodation block that people have mentioned. Always nervous having a room next to a main door because of the noise but did not hear a thing nor from the car park directly outside.

Simply put, the room is huge! Bed large and very comfortable with a large bathroom and step in shower. Very tastefully decorated and love the chunky wooden furniture. Tea and coffee are available in the room and are given a flask of milk to take with you when you check in. Great idea for fresh milk rather than the little cartons but in the morning the flask smelt of spoilt milk and did not bother using it. Pilgrim Inn - use small cartons please.

Also you have free wi-fi in the room and in the pub available to use. The weeks WEP key is on a chalk board in the pub. Tapped it in and bingo, online to write this review.

In the evening we had a meal in the pub for five of us. Table was ok although the table legs were in the way for two people. Food was great and all stated as locally sourced from the New Forest area. Rib eye steak, fillet steak, classic burger and a huge ham hock were very tasty and enjoyed by all. One of those meals where it was very tasty, you were full to bursting point and then surprised that it wasn't as expensive as you thought it was going to be even after the amount of drinks you also has *blush*.

Staff in the evening and the morning were superb. The evening team only had four people for the bar and restaurant and so service was slightly slow. Graciously apologised but was not a problem with us.

Breakfast in the morning was standard stuff. Juices, fruit, cereal and croissants to start, tea, coffee, toast and a few choices for the hot main breakfast. My full English was top nosh! Great sausages, bacon and black pudding!

The only let down for me was the cleanliness of the basin and the shower. For £125 for the one night, this was quite poor. See attached pictures.

Stay again? Absolutely.

I have now stayed here a couple of times, both enjoyable experiences.

The rooms are all nice, clean a very good size and you are located in the beautiful New Forest. The food is pretty average, but it is only a pub after all.

When I have stayed there has never been anyone at the reception desk in the separate building that houses the accommodation, when it's raining having to walk from pub to the accommodation building isn't great, but as much as it's not ideal, it means that you don't have to listen to any noise from the bar.
